Hi,

I am a bit confused about locating and deciphering which game save file belongs to which game. The files don't really indicate the game's title as there are just numbers in the file names. The files are located on my SD card, under Nintendo>save, and Tegraexplorer>Nintendo>save as well. I'm really not sure if they are game saves at all. Do I just look up the numbers to see which game each file belongs to? Is there a separate save folder for both backups and physical carts? I ask because these files are in two separate places on my SD card.

I appreciate the help!

Anybody correct me if I'm wrong but save files are not on the SD card in the Nintendo folder.
All save files are on the internal nand or inside the emummc image.
With homebrew tools like checkpoint you can grab savefiles for each game and copy them somewhere on your SD card.
Checkpoint does show the game icon to make things easy.

So, the emuMMC image is in the internal storage of the Switch? If not, is it visible on the SD card?

I put a backup game onto my SD card, but the game's save would go into the emuMMC if I am booted into CFW while playing, correct?

And if I wanted to see my game saves, I can do that in Checkpoint? I assume the purpose of grabbing and copying game save files to your SD is to protect them. Or, do the games perform better off of the SD card?
