So I've been trying to find an answer to this but I can't find someone that is having the same problem.

Before my Wii died, I was able to run my backups without any problems. I've had nothing but problems since I modded the VWii. Whenever I run certain games like Super Mario Galaxy or Resident Evil 4, they freeze during a cut scene in the very beginning at the same exact spot. I've tried 3 different hard drives (all connected with a Y cable, which I have gotten 2 of because the hard drives had different USB ports), I've tried different loaders (USB Loader and WiiFlow), and I've copied my original game discs back onto the hard drive. This last step was the most interesting as now Super Mario Galaxy gives me a black screen as soon as I select a save game.

Does anyone have a clue what is wrong? Is there a way to restore the VWii to stock so I can start over in case I messed something up as I was modding it?

Have you tried reformatting your drive and putting your games back on? That's all I can think of atm.

I have tried that. Also, one of the three hard drives I tried was brand new.

All of them were formatted as WBFS if that matters.

Also, as I mentioned, only certain games seem to be affected. BIT TRIP COMPLETE and The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess seem to play just fine.

I've learned that the issue isn't just Wii backups but anything. I started to fiddle with emulators on WiiFlow and everything seemed to work fine. Particularly, I was playing Ninja Gaiden just fine when everything was sitting on the SD card. I moved everything over to the USB drive and now the Wii U freezes when I select the same game.

try reinstalling the cios and ios you installed when you first hacked your vwii.
Refollow the install guide and do it again.
http://gbatemp.net/threads/simple-guide-to-install-cios-on-vwii-backup-nand-and-keys.339890/

Sometimes the ios doesnt install correctly, it happened to me as i kept getting errors when running certain homebrew and not all my games would show up on usb. So i reinstalled everything and it worked.

Also try installing the d2x Cios version you didnt install the first time and see if that helps.

Also, you don't need to use WBFS format anymore, it's outdated. You can just use FAT32 or NTFS now with WBFS folder.

I already had reinstalled d2x before I created this thread but I figured I would try it again and change versions. I went from d2x beta 53-alt to d2x beta 52. Sadly same result. Will changing from WBFS change anything in particular? I was thinking of doing that but I didn't see a reason why.

I forgot to mention that the WiiFlow plugin emulators and roms sit on a separate partition that is FAT32 and they no longer work but they do work still work on the SD card.

Also, I don't know if this is the same problem, but Nintendont and Nand emulation also don't seem to work.

I am assuming you installed 1 of these 2 versions and NOT something named similar.
Either:
d2x-v10-beta52-vWii.zip (the vWii is important!)
d2x-v10-beta53-alt-vWii.zip (the vWii is important!)

So I reformatted my newest hard drive to FAT32, converting all my WBFS games to ISO, which took me 5 hours. I ended up with the same exact result. At least now instead of having an SD card and a hard drive in two partitions, I have everything on one partition not working.

First, make sure older versions of reports/nand dumps are tucked away safely:
THEN
Run the latest versions

Sometimes the USB code gets updated by Nintendo to be more compliant to USB standards.
Eliminate everything USB (no controllers, no hubs, no mics, nothing USB) just work with the WiiU and the Hard Drive.
Tests only those 2 things(WiiU and HardDrive).

Power off completely the WiiU (try that first).
Then try different combos.

Go back to
d2x-alt - 2 usb ports supported.
- Fully plug&play usb devices, meaning that you can connect them when the game asks for them

I've re-installed d2x-v10-beta53-alt and I've never had any other USB devices connected. Same result. I've been playing around with options and I noticed that if I force load IOS249 and I select a game, it'll just reboot WiiFlow. If I select IOS251, the game will load but crash where it always crashes. But if I select IOS250, WiiFlow crashes entirely and is stuck in a loop.

I am very tired and aggravated with this. I hate that I spend whole nights, wasting my time on this s$@&.

I haven't come up with anything I can do but I was wondering, does the vWii have it's own physical NAND chip or is it virtual as well? Is it possible to manipulate it through the Wii U using the Browser exploit?

I know this thread is a little old now, but I'm also in the same boat and haven't been able to find a solution. Any updates on this? Really getting frustrated with this as I'm spending more time trying to fix this than actually playing games.

Sadly, I have not been able to find a solution to this. Because of this, my WiiU hasn't been used and is unplugged.
