I don't agree with him, but I think that it isn't wrong to think that way. If you have no other means of getting something, for example, if I am looking for a song, but it isn't all that popular, I have no means of getting it on iTunes or on CD, I would pirate it. Perhaps it is a hassle to get games where he is from.
Afterall, the gaming industry seems catered to the Japanese and Americans, other than major releases, in Vancouver, there is no guarantee that you can find a game you are looking for if you walk into EB Games, in fact, most likely they won't have it. People from Vancouver seem to have a pretty big appetite for buying games, but always not enough stock. It is sad that when I am looking to buy a game, Toys R Us's are the best bet because EB is way expensive, and the only other sources are Best Buys/Future Shops (always out of stock of the games you are looking for) and things like Zellers (stock is always unpredictable). I mean sure when Zelda came out, it'll definitely be there, but if I am looking to buy Bleach DS The Blade of Fate, I'd probably have to call around for hours to find a store looking for it, not to mention getting Japanese games are damn near impossible.
