Uhm... I can't get the game working, no matter what I try. Sorry for posting about an R4 Ultra in an M3 thread, but I can't get this working. I've patched both the Bahamut and the XPA successfully multiple times, but I could never get past the white screens. Clean or Patched, nothing.
Isn't the R4 Ultra an AceKard2 clone?
If so, have you tried the AKIKO firmware?

I always use AKAIO, but I'm unable to use 1.5 because it blocks clones. I'm stuck with 1.4.1, which is the real problem. The patches don't appear to be compatible with it.

the first time they linked us with the patch for the xpa dump
the thread should have been finished
i got the rom and patch and got it working in under a minute
sleep.gif

now they have the bahamut dump patch as well
either way, the m3 series and itouch both seem to be working fine
m3 sakura and touchpod most recent firmware, using the patches for each dump work fine
if you don't have the skill to patch properly (double click, omg) or you haven't upgraded your firmware to most recent
then i wish you luck

The link that was posted did not work at all as a patch for me, I went and got the one off GBAtemp's file host Filetrip or whatever it's called, that was the one that worked for the XPA dump which is for M3 Adapter cards ONLY. The Bahamut dump and any patches that might be required for it will only work on other cards that aren't clones and have official firmwares.

R4 Ultra is just a generic R4 clone as far as I know, and it didn't work with the Japanese release and the firmware was never updated by the clowns who do make it in order to support the game back then, so as to why anyone thinks the R4 Ultra will play it now is beyond me.

playing it on R4i and without any patches, my game works, only problem is that I can't play with friends because they always see me as offline and I can't any of them on.

So will this patch fix that?

So how's online connectivity with either patch?

Can you connect to retail users?

Is there a principal difference between either patch?

Edit (Inb4noob): I do realize the patches are for seperate releases. Please don't post about that. I'm not a moron.

Okay... so... for one. No replies. I wish someone would tell me.

And major second... Neither of the patches is working for me. I just updated to 4.6 beta and 1.43x. I'm STILL getting the same problem with both patches. It won't go past the loading splash screen from M3.

Puhlease help. I really want to play.

Edit: 3.5 hrs later. No replies. Please, any tips at all would be appreciated. I would love to get into this game.

OMGEDIT: I did a second reformat of my microsd and... IT WORKS!

Next nitpick on teh agenda. Can we get rid of the Xenophobia intro screen?

I just made an anti-piracy code. Game boots with the code after character was created, everything else should work fine. Needed to use Instant Codes option for boot. Made it by looking at 2 RAM dumps based on a clean rom and a patched rom. Looked in the area close to where the J code was writing data at. There where a few areas that didn't matched each other. In the clean rom ram dump, the data was one thing, but in the patched rom ram dump, it was the same data the J anti-piracy code was writing to ram. this code puts that data in all thge addreses I found different in the 2 dumps. Please do tests to see if anything doesnt work, as in normal loot rates, and wifi with retail carts.

Code:

BRAVO!!
Initial testing shows the same drop rate as the patched ROM, I haven't tested wifi yet, but I will.
