I am somebody who wants to have a modchip, to be able to make and play backups of games I own and do GH3 customs.
I do not intend to use it for piracy.

I do not want to break my Wii when I install my mod chip, and I do not want to mess up the soldering, so I want to not have to solder anything. (Maybe a non-solder mod chip???)

I was looking at this. Is it a good deal for what I want?

Is it easy to put a new DVD drive in? Or should I stick to a non solder modchip?

Additionaly, I am looking for the cheapest mod available.

EDIT: Does the Gecko OS work with backup discs on unmodded Wiis?

Thanks in advance,
TheFlyingMoose

Why do you want to buy whole DVD? Just go to somebody that modded a wii ad\nd pay him for it.

Hi there

If you are willing to let somebody else do the soldering, then give us more information about your console. Look at your serial number (ask google if you don't know where it is) and look on the net/google what chipset you should have on your optical drive. Depending on the chipset (D2A/B/C...) you might not need the newest and most expensive modchip.

I guess you are right, but I was just looking for ideas.
Anyone who will mod my wii, and for cheap?
what drive do you have? if youre willing to mail it, maybe i would install a chip for cheap

You could always get a Wii-Clip if you don't like soldering, you just click it on the drive chip.

That's a rip off i you ask me, just a driv efor about £70, get it modded by someone internets has many a places for this. Sometimes local shops do under teh cashdesk jobs.
