from the wad file itself you can do only one thing:
unpack the wad and check the 0000001 -0000006 files. if the manual (html) is the same and the rom is the same (compare with a downloaded one) then probably it's original.

it's hard to do anyway, you need tools and time.

otherwise you could install it on you wii and check if banner-game-manual refer to the game. banner usually isn't a logo, it's just the start screen of the game.

if the game is the same in all 3 it is (probably) the original wad

ok, thanks for the fast answer.

so i take a look at the emanual.arc file, if the file is modded or not.

is there somewhere a list with the ticket codes for the wad files and games? because, i think its bad to give a tiket name whichs already used by a other wad...it overrides my savegames, or was i wrong?

Install the Wad, start it and see if there is an manual and if it is corresponding game.
If you want be 100% sure, just make an CRC Check. But the method with the manual is fine enough.
sjeps suggestion is too complicated.

are you using haxchi, tiramisu or aroma?
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    yeah
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
no, I'm asking which one of them you are using
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    aroma
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
in that case, there is no such thing as homebrew launcher for aroma
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
you have to launch your homebrews directly from the wii u menu
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
there is a plugin that display them on the wii u menu, pretty sure it is enabled by default
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    so like it doesnt exist
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    yeah
    ?
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
it doesn't exist, at least not for aroma
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    ohhhhh
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
on tiramisu you can access it by opening mii maker
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    okay
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
I don't have a wii u anymore to test it myself, but if homebrews are not visible on the wii u menu I think you can press L + R + minus to open the plugin menu, there should be an option called "homebrews on wii u menu" or something similar
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    nope
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    it is L+dpad down+ select
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
but homebrew is appearing in the home menu btw
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
    yes, now I remember it
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
then it is working, I also don't like that they did this but it is the only option you have if you are using aroma
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
