Fallout 76 announced

After a huge tease of the game via Bethesda Game Studio's Twitch account, a trailer video was released, giving us a look into the latest Fallout game. Gameplay wasn't shown, but we have a title now, Fallout 76, which presumably takes place in Vault 76, a control-vault mentioned in both Fallout 3, and 4. It takes place around 2102, in the timeline (the year FEV was discovered). Fallout 76 is an online game and will be available on Xbox One, PC, and PlayStation 4, and we'll have a better look at actual gameplay during Bethesda's E3 conference.

I guess AAA third party releases will not be released day and date on Switch. Understandable but disappointing

Tbh.. EW online? I'm hoping by that it means coop, and not this shitty RPG online crap. ESO was fun for like a week and then it became repetitive central...

was expecting a crossover between fallout and blizzard (soldier 76 in overwatch)
ho well, new fallou game <3

love how they create plenty of items and stuff around the vaultboy design, yellow and blue <3
76 refers to the vault number in fallout.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I wish they'd make another isometric fallout.

F3 doesn't work half the time on windows 10 without pita workarounds. new vegas works fine for this first two or so hours rip
I have no issues running them unmodified through wine (apart from the customary NV crashes ofc). Maybe the problem is Windows.

EDIT: Not wanting to stray to far off topic, wouldn't it be delightful if this game had native linux support? :D

elder scrolls online *cough* I mean vault 76? I quite like elder scrolls online, so I'm expecting the same kind of parallel experience.

Some people are expecting it to be the Fallout version of Elder Scrolls Online. Which...isn't a bad idea, I guess, but meh I'm not too interested in MMOs these days so I'll pass if it is.
That did cross my mind when I read it was online, but wouldn't they just call it Fallout Online, if that was the case?

I see no reason why it has to follow the same naming scheme as Elder Scrolls Online.

It would make more sense for a Fallout MMO to use a Vault number in the name as opposed to just "Fallout Online", since the Fallout games only span specific states and who's major plot follows vault dwellers in the US and not an entire fictional contentment like Elder Scrolls

So. They made a teaser for a teaser trailer and that while they aren't even far enough in the development to show some gameplay?
I miss the times a trailer with in-game scenes was released 1-3 months before the actual game release and that was all of the advertisement until short before release.

(but great music choice)
Well, these days the publishers make 90% of their money from hyoe and pre-orders. Announce a game when they've barely even got an engine up and running for it, and make everyone squirm for 5-10 years until it's finally done.

So from what I gather, you play as a character from a Vault that actually remained sealed and lively throughout the entire fallout and has made it to the day where it's deemed "safe" to go outside and rebuild. It'll be an online game since the premise is that multiple vault dwellers are going out to rebuild, so each player you meet online is another person from your vault or other successful vaults. So it's sort of a post-post-apocolyptic game. Interesting way to explain why there's multiple vault dwellers running around so they can adapt it to online play.

Ugh, and I've been playing Fallout 4 a lot lately after a couple year hiatus. Was excited until I saw "online."

If you like those games, enjoy it!
