Hacking Failure in hacking a 3DS

Hello to everyone,

I am here to know if I can resolve my problem about my 3DS that I try to hack but I had a problem. I was trying to hack my New 3DS EUR 11.9.0-42.E version with this website :3ds.hacks.guide/installing-boot9strap-(fredtool)

I follow all the instructions but when I install boot9 and when it was finished I was asked if I want to return to the HOME menu with the pop up thing. And then impossible to open my 3DS, the screen stay black and the little light goes blue and then disapear immediately. Nothing was deleted on my SD card but I was frightened so I delete it but I realise only now it was very stupid. I did a save though of my SD card just before instaling the hack and I have all the files I used that are the boot.3dsx (Homebrew Menu v2.0.0), movable.sed, boot.firm (Luma3DS v9.1), boot.nds (boot9strap v5.0.1) and the private file (Frogminer save 1.0).

I instaled 1 month ago a Homebrew version using Sub Wars trick that went fine. I decided to change but I think I put it back to normal. Did it gone wrong for that ? Did I brick or soft-brick my 3DS ? Is there any way to go back like before ?

Sorry for my english if it's bad but I am very frightened to lose all my data.

Only reason(As far i know) for boot9strap to have that behavior is because of missing/corrupted boot.firm or sdcard. Try checking if you have the boot.firm file on your sdcard

I have it and I don't understand why.
But now you told me my computer put me a message that the boot.firm file is a strange file and open me a window.

So it means my 3DS isn't bricked ? Not all is lost ?

Is the file "boot.firm" on 3DS sdcard.
Your console is fine

Yes the file is in but is it possible that this file had problems when I instal it on the root of the 3DS SD card ?

Well might be corrupted file try using the boot file from this archive

well no that is a rare issue. Just asking is the sdcard in your 3ds. And have you checked if it works?

So the problem is 3DS instantly turning off when you power it on even with boot.firm on the sdcard?

One more question when did you install boot9strap because i can be that it is not updated

Show us a picture of the root of your sd card (root is the first folder when you open your sd card).

Apparently I can't show you but when I extract the file boot.firm there is a window from Window that is telling me that the method of this file is unknown. Could it be the reason ? I am under Windows 8.

No that just means windows can't open the file nothing important

On the root of my 3DS SD card are my DCIM folder, Nintendo 3DS folder, boot.firm, boot.3dsx, boot.nds, movable.sed, private folder.

And also how is a bricked 3DS and a soft-bricked 3DS ?

bricked is when 3ds WON'T BOOT AT ALL (Blue Screen Of Death) soft bricked is some software(3ds operating system or b9s) has errors.
Brick and soft bricks are fixable

(In your case the 3ds turns on so it's soft bricked)

And about the errors they are clearly showed up or just a black screen ?
Of course no problem I will go too thank you a lot because I thought it was a brick.
But I put homebrew channel before with the Steel Wars way. Is it possible that this break my 3DS ?
