Hi everyone,

I need help recovering my Tomodachi Life save from my old Sky 3DS which is now dead.

Here's my situation:

  • I have the Tomodachi Life.sav file from my Sky 3DS micro SD card
  • I have the savekeys.txt from the Sky 3DS with the GAMESAVE_KEY
  • I decrypted the ROM successfully with Batch CIA 3DS Decryptor Redux
  • The game runs perfectly on Lime3DS
  • But the save won't load because it's still encrypted with my dead console's keys

I tried save3ds_fuse v1.3 with the --cart argument but it asks for boot9.bin which I don't have since my console was not hacked.

I spent a long time troubleshooting this with Claude (AI assistant) and we tried everything we could think of but we're stuck at this point.

Is there any way to decrypt the save without boot9.bin? Or any alternative tool that could work with just the GAMESAVE_KEY from the Sky 3DS?

Thanks in advance!

boot9.bin is identical for all consoles and it doesn't matter if you dump it from your unit directly or if you download it from somewhere on the Internet. However, if the Sky is anything like the Gateway, then it uses its own encryption and save3ds_fuse will not help you.
