There were more ique releases? Did not expect to see that one.

For others that don't know ique is the Chinese brand that sells Nintendo hardware in China (complicated reasons for that one). Most probably know them for the iQue Player which did some N64 games, however they did have a DS model as well and a few others. The DS is slightly different on the hardware and firmware front (it has a larger chip and Chinese characters for pictochat). Technically the games are also region locked to it but most flash carts will bypass it and have done since.... 2005.

GBA wise then the other day saw a release of some previously unknown GBA efforts

Thank you very much for your hard work!

If there was any possibility to address some irregular issues with saving features mentioned in this forum (GBC saves and also some of users mentioned GBA saves corruption), I would definitely had much more reasons to recommend my friends Omega over other flash-carts for GBA.

Keep up the good work!

What are these ique games? Are they gba/nds games? Or even N64? Are there any exclusives?
Some never released GBA efforts. Article https://www.siliconera.com/2019/03/...-been-prototype-unreleased-chinese-gba-games/

No exclusives, though among the list are Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade, Kururin Paradise, Densetsu no Stafy 2, Densetsu no Stafy 1 and Tomato Adventure, none of which got official translations to English and at time of writing only Fire Emblem has a fan translation, though Kururin Paradise also has a menu/few bits translation (it is a puzzle game so pretty playable -- http://www.romhacking.net/translations/1170/ ) and Starfy is a platformer so playable enough without it. Don't know much about Tomato Adventure but it is an earlier effort from the same people that did the Mario & Luigi Series for the handhelds and a quick scan has it getting some decent reviews.

@maniacnny I have the same problem:

I bought three EZ Flash Omega. For all three I have the problem that when playing always freezes the image, noise sound and you can not press anything. Has happened so far with several GBA games (about 8 games). Only with a restart can you play again. I have already used various Micro SD cards, but everywhere the same error. I already formatted the micro sd cards several times. I use the last Kernel and I load rom only with clean boot. I have"test psram" and everything is ok.

Dear developers, I want to share my observations. Now I am testing a new battery with your cartridge.
Install the latest firmware. The game freezes, after the red indicator lights up (after 5-6 hours), after rebooting everything works well. If you connect the charger, the game works great without freezing for 10-12 hours. Maybe this is a problem with the power consumption of the flash cartridge? Or is it firmware? Because in firmware 1.02T, V3 there is no problem with freezing.

same problem.

I tried this method, but by the end of testing, when the battery of the gameboy is low, freezing still happens. This is a single freeze, and after reboot all working, but it still unpleasant.

I would stay on firmware 1.02, but I like energy saving on firmware 1.05 (1 hour +)

Help solve the problem please. I think others have this problem too.

Can you tell me which firmware and kernel version you are using currently.

yall im torn... ive been hacking away at tales of phantasia GBA (the USA version) and have so many documents of reverse engineering i've done
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I just found out that the EU version is better in literally every way, better sound quality, better lighting, and there's even a patch someone made to make the text look nicer
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
Do I restart now using what i've learned on the EU version since it's a better overall experience? or do I continue with the US version since that is what ive been using, and if someone decides to play my hack, it would most likely be that version?
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@TwoSpikedHands, I'll preface this with the fact that I know nothing about the game, but, I think it depends on what your goals are. Are you trying to make a definitive version of the game? You may want to refocus your efforts on the EU version then. Or, are you trying to make a better US version? In which case, the only way to make a better US version is to keep on plugging away at that one ;)
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I'm not familiar with the technicalities of the differences between the two versions, but I'm wondering if at least some of those differences are things that you could port over to the US version in your patch without having to include copyrighted assets from the EU version
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
    I appreciate the insight!
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@TwoSpikedHands just switch, all the knowledge you learned still applies and most of the code and assets should be the same anyway
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    and realistically they wouldn't

be able to play it legally anyway since they need a ROM and they probably don't have the means to dump it themselves
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
why the shit does the shitbox randomly insert newlines in my messages
  • Veho @ Veho:
It does that when I edit a post.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It inserts a newline in a random spot.

never had that i don't think

do y'all think having an sd card that has a write speed of 700kb/s is a bad idea?
trying to restore emunand rn but it's taking ages... (also when I finished the first time hekate decided to delete all my fucking files )
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@Karma177 that sd card is 100% faulty so yes, its a bad idea
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
even the slowest non-sdhc sd cards are a few MB/s
  • Karma177 @ Karma177:
@The Real Jdbye it hasn't given me any error trying to write things on it so I don't really think it's faulty (pasted 40/50gb+ folders and no write errors)
