If you're comfortable buying from taobao ~$60 is what the ODE is listed for on there.
If this was 2020, I would be. But the German Post office will reportedly be redirecting all packages from China to the customs office starting this year. Which means that I will have to go the the customs office to pick it up and pay import fees. But I also suspect they wouldnt even allow me to collect the unit in the first place due to piracy concerns.

Do people genuinely care about some full length films on GBA cart and rumble (all of two games, maybe 5 by the time hackers are done)?
I have been following this whole emulation/flash cart/mod chip scene for a great number of years now and most times I see "but it supports [insert very niche item], this is clearly the winner that we should give all the money to" I do have to wonder.
Or are we now going to have to wait for some cart to support the personal organiser ROM, a solar/light sensor, a tilt sensor or something similar?

The omega definitive edition is the only flashcard that allows you to watch shrek in full length on the gba. Checkmate, atheists

So in theory if I play Pokémon ruby on it and then connect it to the DS with Diamond inserted it would allow me to transfer my Pokémon from the rom to Diamond I want more info on how it works though it’s confusing

Now. with a patched Gameyob. the gbc games which support rumble can be used with EZ-FLASH OMEGA Definitive Edition on DS.

and meantime, we are looking at the goomba code to support rumble.

Come on... $100?! It's 375 PLN - Poland is too poor for it :/
That's a whole AGS-101 cost! Barely exchanged my EZ IV for Standard Omega. ($42)

What?! Gameyob is working on the Omega?
Why didn't I know about this? lol
Does it work with Pokemon Crystal?
I've been dying to replay that one on my GBA with the Omega, but sadly Goomba isn't compatible with Crystal :/

I think having a flash card with rumble support is going to make lots of hackers and homebrewers support it.

For example, I have not added rumble support to my engine because I have no way to test it. And I'm sure I'm not the only one in this situation.

About 64MB roms support... well, 32MB is usually more than enough and supporting the extended rom size is not going to be easy, since it is going to require bank switching or something like that, so I guess it is not going to be as popular as the rumble support.

If that is the real price (compared with the scalper reseller price) then it's pretty much a no-brainer to get the ODE instead of the X5 mini.

Yeah I just ordered one from taobao for 406 cny (~$63) after shipping. Guess I'll find out soon enough lol

Ouch that's too bad

@EZ-Flash2 does Omega/ODE firmware still have the hooks to launch DS code from Slot-2 with PassMe/FlashMe?

Because there's this: https://wiki.gbatemp.net/wiki/GBA_Frames

Launching DS stuff from Slot-2 isn't really useful nowadays, but it'd be nice to be able to load frames around GBA games on the DS with a little detour through DS mode. I think those GB Macro people would find that quite useful.

Mmh movie? The old omega can play the official movie card roms too.
But make New?
Why? The resolution is smal and the frame rate low.
That's no good movie!

Rumble? How many games support rumble? 2!
How many ds games? Many more but is it good? I dont knew.

Goomba? Not really a good emulator from my view.
I take instead a gb/c card like ezflash junior.

yall im torn... ive been hacking away at tales of phantasia GBA (the USA version) and have so many documents of reverse engineering i've done
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I just found out that the EU version is better in literally every way, better sound quality, better lighting, and there's even a patch someone made to make the text look nicer
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
Do I restart now using what i've learned on the EU version since it's a better overall experience? or do I continue with the US version since that is what ive been using, and if someone decides to play my hack, it would most likely be that version?
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@TwoSpikedHands, I'll preface this with the fact that I know nothing about the game, but, I think it depends on what your goals are. Are you trying to make a definitive version of the game? You may want to refocus your efforts on the EU version then. Or, are you trying to make a better US version? In which case, the only way to make a better US version is to keep on plugging away at that one ;)
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I'm not familiar with the technicalities of the differences between the two versions, but I'm wondering if at least some of those differences are things that you could port over to the US version in your patch without having to include copyrighted assets from the EU version
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
    I appreciate the insight!
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@TwoSpikedHands just switch, all the knowledge you learned still applies and most of the code and assets should be the same anyway
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    and realistically they wouldn't

be able to play it legally anyway since they need a ROM and they probably don't have the means to dump it themselves
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
why the shit does the shitbox randomly insert newlines in my messages
  • Veho @ Veho:
It does that when I edit a post.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It inserts a newline in a random spot.

do y'all think having an sd card that has a write speed of 700kb/s is a bad idea?
trying to restore emunand rn but it's taking ages... (also when I finished the first time hekate decided to delete all my fucking files )
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@Karma177 that sd card is 100% faulty so yes, its a bad idea
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
even the slowest non-sdhc sd cards are a few MB/s
  • Karma177 @ Karma177:
@The Real Jdbye it hasn't given me any error trying to write things on it so I don't really think it's faulty (pasted 40/50gb+ folders and no write errors)
