I have a supercard dsone and an ez flash 3in1 cartridge (phat version). I'm trying to play a hacked version of Pokemon Ruby (Light Platinum) and it refuses to save. I've tried every possible combination of the rom (I've patched it with LIPS/gbata, then tried the sram patcher/clock fix in different combinations on gbata. The rom works fine, but when I hit save and restart my DS and go into gba exploader it would ask if I want it to set up slot 2. I updated GBA Exploader, and after saving and going in, it finally asked where I want to save the file. However, this time when going back into the game it tells me that the save file has been deleted and forces me to start a new game. I've tried playing the game in PSRAM mode but there is no "advanced" under the Gameboy splash screen, so the game doesn't actually start. Does this mean the battery is dead, or is there something I'm missing? I've tried sram test, but it keeps saying it can't find the .gba file.

If you got a phat 3in1, your battery is dead by now regardless of how new you think it is. They stopped making those around the same time as the first version of the 3in1 for DSLs. The time from then and now is well over 5 years, longer than the life of the battery.

Replace your battery by either the tape method or solder a new one, you can find one in the maintenance section in my guide.

Everyone with GBA flashcarts and/or any slot2 that is older than 5 years, your going to deal with maintenance or you can chuck your stuff in the trash.

Okay, thanks for the info. I opened it up and stuck a LED on the battery, and it still lit up but it was noticeably dimmer than a new CR2032. I don't have my multimeter right now but I'll go ahead and buy a battery anyway.

UPDATE: Managed to fit a CR2032 in there (the only battery I have on hand) and it seems to work. When I start pokemon, it says the save file is corrupt but it still lets me use the save file (it says it'll use the previous save, but it seems to use the most current one anyway).

i thought everybody knew cocktails are like 75% ice
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Yeah but not like this.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's not like they're complaining that their Slurpee is 99% ice or something, but if the cocktail calls for "shot of vodka, shot of vermouth, shot of gin, shot of Campari, three shots of juice, squirt of lemon" and ends up being a thimbleful of booze, that's a problem.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
the funny thing is cocktails in norway are only allowed to have 1 20ml shot of booze
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    so..... yeah
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
we're used to only having a thimbleful of booze
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Booo.

same thing if you want whisky on the rocks or something, you can't get a double
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but you could buy as many shots of whisky (or anything else) as you want and ask for a glass of ice and pour them in
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    it's dumb
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Maybe.

There was a comparison of the number of Ibuprofen poisonings before and after they limited the maximum dosage per box or per pill (i'll look that up). No limit on the number of boxes you can still buy as many as you want, so people argued it was pointless.
  • Veho @ Veho:
But the number of (accidental) poisonings dropped because drinking an entire package of ibuprofen pills went from "I need a new liver" to "I need a new box of Ibuprofen".
  • Veho @ Veho:
Here we have ketoprofen that used to be prescription-only because of the risk of toxic dosages, but then they halved the dose per pill and sell them in bottles of six pills apiece instead of twenty and it doesn't need a prescription any more. Yes you can buy more than one bottle but people simply don't.

Usually accidentally overdose of ibuprofen here is from people taking like cold medicine then ibuprofen for a headache and the combination is over what they need
