so i just have to change my 3ds id?

if you got banned you have to change your 3DS SYSTEM (buy a new/used one). Currently that's the only fix, some people have suggested trying to spoof the mac address using a router (or perhaps android access point connected to a PC with internet sharing). A few other people have suggested trying to connect to another connection but those 2 methods haven't been tried.

I'm using private header so no problem for me :P
I'd not be so sure about it possibilites are endless if they start keeping track of what people do.

They could possibly log user activity and see if the same header checked online for different games.

If i switch from public headers to private headers (ie create a new .3dz file), will I lose my GW .sav save file? Or can i keep my save?

You'll lose it since it's encrypted to that specific header.

I'm banging my head against the wall right now thinking on what to do with my bravely default save.

Just to expand on this... ultimately no matter what it is tied to we should eventually be able to bypass it, assuming you have another unbanned 3ds available that is also hacked. Whether it checks the MAC, serial, or another system ID they can all be spoofed by modified firmware using Gateway. It's just a matter of time until it's determined EXACTLY what is banned and then patching that check in the system to instead report a valid unbanned ID.

As of now it is such a big hit because even if you strip headers from the games you play and go offline you'd lose all your progress.

Damn that sucks :(

At least with mario kart 7 the save isn't that big of a deal (skill is more important)

I think i'm gonna start using CIA for everything, so that i can use savedatafiler. Plus it seems to be safer for not getting banned?

it's mario I wouldn't be so confident a work around will happen.

some wifi adapters can't change mac address ever I'm pretty sure.

I believe there are reports of people getting banned with cias a few pages ago not sure though.

I just bought a private header but even with that I'm not 100% safe because they could easily track the same header being used for different games.

Gave up on Mario Kart 7 and will probably do the same for everything else, not a big deal anything's better than getting banned.
