I see, I can't get any of the older ones in Diamond?

e1; Hmm, I've been reading what pokemon I can't obtain in diamond/pearl and it seems like the ones I want the most I have to migrate from FireRed and LeafGreen. I think I'm going to try one of those games.
e2; I won't be able to migrate the pokemon from the gba game to ds game unless I actually bought the game huh?

Indeed, you need either a Phat NDS or a NDSL, get the GBA Game Pak and select the Migrate Option once you Unlock the Pal Park on Diamond. If you own a flashcart able to play the Pokémon games ROMs, you can just extract the save/dump the GBA ROM into your PC to inject some AR Codes, to customize your GBA Game, and then reinsert back into the GBA Game Pak the save file to migrate into Diamond. You can even Migrate unlimited times (this requires 2 different GBA Pokemon Game Paks).

Cheers!

Platinum is nice as a true Pokemon game. Oddly I am enjoying Pokemon Mystery Dungeon : Blue Rescue Team as well. Is very Roguelike.

Erm, there are some quite significant differences, such as some Poke games allow you to breed them, some have the ability to plant trees, etc.

Yep Diamonds one of the newer ones. The next ones after Yellow are Gold and Silver which are being remade on the DS and youve alredy played Gold. The ones after that are Emerald, Ruby and Saphire which are on GBA. But if your looking for DS games Pokemin Diamond, Pearl and Platinum are after those. Hope i helped.
i beg to differ.... yea the gameplay is almost the same but from yellow to diamond its a big gap.... u try to play pokemon blue after diamond.... u just cant do it

actually i did that...i succeeded =]
but uhmm after that i decided to play ruby and gold on an emulator and uhmm i liked gold but didn't like ruby that much
Well i was playing leaf green and then played blue... It felt weird

. I decided to go with Diamond. I have one question though, will I be able to find/catch pokemon like: Charmander, Pikachu, Mew, Mewtwo, Ho-Oh, Lugia etc? So far I only have 6 pokemon and I only recognize a few of them. Thx everyone.

If you want to know where to find a Pokemon in a particular game, use this site:

I'd say that if you enjoyed GSC (2nd Generation), you will enjoy the fourth generation (and not just HeartGold and SoulSilver) because of all the changes to the game mechanics. If you have Wi-Fi, that improves the fourth generation even more. However, I'm not that much into the storyline, which is the only minus for the main series games (the GCN games aren't main series games because they differ from the basic formula).
