I'm trying to work with an IRC bot called Cloudbot to grab results from the GBATemp wiki, and then display them in an IRC channel. This is all fine and dandy, and easy enough because the plugin was already made; it had this feature for Wikipedia instead. Both Wikipedia and GBATemp's Wiki use MediaWiki, so in theory it should work fine, right? All I would need to do is replace the API link it uses.
Now, this would work, but the plugin depends on a service called OpenSearch. If the wiki doesn't have this enabled, the plugin will error out, which isn't too fun. In other words, the plugin won't work unless XML/OpenSearch is enabled on the wiki.
I'm requesting that both of those be enabled for the benefit of people that want to do something similar, alongside myself. If you don't have this feature, I noticed that GBATemp's Wiki is running on an old version of MediaWiki, 1.24, while the latest is 1.27. It might be time to update.
