I mean I know it's never going to happen, but there is no one in this world that wants to see him and zuckerberg have a cage fight more than me.

So now the coder extraordinaire blocked Google bots from trawling Twitter, meaning tweets won't be showing up in searches there any more. Does he think he can claim insurance money if he sets all the code on fire?

What good has Elon Musk ever done?

He didn't found Tesla - he was a financier, who stole the company from its actual founders, Eberhard and Tarpenning. He didn't found PayPal - he did create X.com, but was fired for poor coding skills plus being a rude asshole, and only after that did it get bought out and turned into PayPal (Musk did own shares in PayPal, but that's it).

As for Tesla, Full Self-Driving is a scam in and of itself, being promised to be "fully functional" in 2017 yet still isn't, being barely functional and very dangerous. The Tesla cargo truck was promised in 2019, and has barely entered production, and important factors (such as how much cargo it can carry) haven't been officially revealed, to my knowledge - sold under false pretences, and isn't nearly as good as advertised or as gas-powered trucks. That special Tesla car barely works too, and their "thermonuclear-explosion-proof glass"? Pfft.
There's also the regular cars, which are known for trapping people inside when they inevitably combust (lack of power locks the doors, idiotically), and are known for spontaneously combusting. Why ever get one of these? Why not get another brand's EVs, one that isn't owned by a manipulative asshole?

Oh, and the fucking robots, which can barely shuffle in a straight line, and any footage of them picking up, carrying, and putting down objects is clearly spliced footage. How is this impressive, when Boston Dynamics and others are leaps and bounds ahead?

Neuralink tortured animals to self-mutilation, disease, and death, all in the vain hope of creating tiny brain implants that would do impossible things (play virtual games, for instance). They tortured and killed numerous monkeys and sheep, and have been denounced by a lot of people and organisations. They also attempted to gain recognition for research that another group had done in the late 2000s. Needless to say, Neuralink is a particularly dark and horrific stain on Musk's rap sheet.

SolarCity was an outright scam, as was the Hyperloop and LAX Tesla-based tunnel dug by The Boring Company. SpaceX is another scam, chewing through insane amounts of grant money with practically nothing to show for it except fireworks, damaged landing pads, the destruction of a wildlife preserve, and forcing Boca Chica residents to relocate.

Starlink ruins Earth-based astronomy, significantly increases the amount of space junk in orbit, and (like all satellite-based Internet) will be slow as shit when a bunch of people try to access it and clog the available bandwidth - plus, there's other competitors that don't need so many goddamn satellites to function.

There was also his ludicrous idea of replacing planes with rockets, from several years ago, which is patently ridiculous as a concept (travellers would have to don protective gear, wait for fuel to be loaded - can't do that beforehand, not safe - and hope it isn't raining at the destination, plus the rockets would have to be far away from cities and stuff due to how loud they are), and considering how explosive SpaceX is...inherently unsafe too, with this guy.

And now he's sinking Twitter. $8 blue "verification" mark, shadowbanning people, preventing reading of Tweets when not logged in, and now rate-limiting those who are logged in.

Then there's how he's treated his multiple wives and numerous children, on top of his business fuck-ups.

So I ask again - what good has Musk ever done?

Oh, and an addendum to the SpaceX thing - how is Musk repeatedly getting government grants and NASA support, when his rockets are obviously pure crap and NASA themselves got rockets right back in the 60s? Hell, they even progressed to the Shuttle, a bloody MARVEL of engineering that was monumental for orbital capabilities, and essentially what allowed the ISS to be built.

How are we going backwards from the Shuttle? Why doesn't SpaceX take the bloody Shuttle blueprints and improve upon them with modern materials and knowledge? WHY WASTE LUDICROUS AMOUNTS OF MONEY AND RESOURCES ON FLAWED, EXPLODING ROCKETS?

Forget Mars; going back to the Moon should be incredibly simple now, yet the most well-known, and well-funded, space company can't even escape atmosphere. What a joke.

NASA's rockets back in the 60s cost a few orders of magnitude more than what a SpaceX rocket costs, and they had their fair share of crashes in their beginning stages, and faced massive criticism for the waste of money.

And the rockets that got people to the Moon back in the 60s were single-use monsters and every mission was the equivalent of starting your journey in a jumbo jet and chopping it down bit by bit along the way until you return home on a bicycle, and then buying a new jet for the next trip.

SpaceX is taking the blueprints of the Space Shuttle and improving upon them by testing multiple-use rockets (instead of the incredibly expensive single-use booster rockets and fuel tanks that the Space Shuttle depended on) that are designed with modern materials and knowledge. It's not just a matter of taking the original design and then remaking it in new materials (I mean look at how that went for that submarine guy; CARBON FIBER IS THE FUTURE DUDE!).

And the current launch platform that NASA is developing for their new Moon mission, while costing "only" a quarter of what the Saturn rockets cost, is a single-use platform again.

The whole point of the SpaceX is that the different design should allow it to be reusable and drop the cost of space missions by 95% and that is why the company is getting funds for their experiments.

Don't blame the company just because Musk is involved, don't throw the baby out with the, to paraphrase, diaper full of shit that is its most noticeable feature.

Doesn't he own the whole company though? What's to stop him pretending he's the best engineer at SpaceX like he pretends he's the best coder at Twitter, and fucking things up beyond repair?

He already does pretend he's the best engineer at SpaceX, but since SpaceX is doing relatively well and nobody is shitting on him for it, he doesn't feel the need to make "improvements".
And I don't think screwing over SpaceX would disrupt any stock or crypto in particular, so that's another one of his incentives gone.
So he's happy to pose for photos in front of rockets and then go back to throwing tantrums elsewhere.
