IIRC TEGRA X1 was made for the Shield TV / SWITCH
Except Nvidia's own website calls it a mobile processor.
the FCC report is surely the POC for the SWITCH for testing purposes
That makes literally no sense but okay~
A "tablet" is something you can multitask on, browse internet, listen music, watch movies, take pictures, install apps and play games with a quite nice battery also.
The SWITCH is a portable console with touchscreen and a screen that can be deported to TVs, period.
Lets look at the definition of what a tablet is "A tablet computer, commonly shortened to tablet, is a mobile computer with a touchscreen display, which is usually in color, processing circuitry, and a rechargeable battery in a single thin, flat package."
Oh look being a multimedia device is not a criteria for a tablet! But wait there is more! If you go to Wikipedia's Gaming tablet section you can see this nice little tidbit "The Nintendo Switch console is a gaming tablet.". And before you start you weak defense "wikipedia is not a reliable source", it is. It is constantly updated and moderated by people who have far bigger understanding of the subject matter than you or me.
And tbh. the switch not being multitask-able is a blessing in disguise. Or are you of the opinion that Nintendo should waste resources on Multitasking features, rather than running games on higher settings, that not many will find use for just so that the device will fit you headcanon definition of a tablet? I don't even get why you guys are so defensive about this. As if calling the switch a tablet was a bad thing. It literally isn't.
Why waste resources on a music player when most people are gonna using spotify or apple music or whatever, through their phones anyway. Same can be said for literally anything else. Sorry but on that front I believe Ninty made a good decision. Most gaming tablets lack power because they're running operating systems that are designed for multitasking and not single purpose tablet gaming. Making Switch OS be just for gaming and nothing else is the best decision they could've made.
Because with your thinking, if a TV was with touchscreen what would it be ? A big tablet for living room ? A screen with touchscreen don't make it a tablet...
I guess you're not familiar with the term "Smart-TV"?
