EA announces new Need for Speed game

Electronic Arts has just unveiled the next title in the long-running Need for Speed franchise. Titled "Payback", the game seems to have a little bit of narrative going on, as the trailer focuses on multiple characters talking about revenge. The press release also mentions that there will be three specific playable drivers.

Set in the underworld of Fortune Valley, players will drive as three distinct characters reunited by a quest for vengeance against The House, a nefarious cartel that rules the city's casinos, criminals and cops. They will take on a variety of challenges and events as Tyler, the Racer; Mac, the Showman; and Jess, the Wheelman to earn the respect of the underground

Payback will be developed by Ghost Games, the team behind 2013's negatively received Need for Speed Rivals, but will also include staff members from the shuttered company Critereon, known for making the Burnout series of racing games. Need for Speed Payback is set to launch on November 10 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Trust me, a tablet doesn't have an nVidia processor or a game card slot. Sure, when you "strip it to it's basics" it's a tablet with a touch screen, but with everything, it's SO MUCH MORE.
Nvidia has a tablet with a Nvidia proccessor, he isn't hating on it, he is just saying.

"or a game card slot"
What does that have to do with anything? I mean I like being able to easily resell (or more accurately never resell and buy everybody else's old games for pocket change, as well as occasionally lend people games) but it has a means of getting data on there (as opposed to one of those all built in systems) so again what relevance does that have to anything?

When Android starts making games on the same level as Nintendo then I'll give a shit if they make a stronger device.
Have you properly explored much of the modern Android library? Many devs that were doing good stuff on the GBA and DS are to be found there now, even those that stuck around and made the 3ds slightly less of a failure often dual released. I am not sure what to cover here as "Nintendo games" is not a major selling point for any Nintendo console for me, save perhaps for Rare on the N64 where they largely upstaged Nintendo badged offerings, and thinking about most of that was because the N64 was otherwise a failure and they provided some means of extracting enjoyment.

Super Mario Run, Atomic Pinball, Rush Ralley 2?

Yeah no not gonna take you seriously on this one. If Nintendo games is not a selling point for you then don't buy one or care too much about it. I find there handheld console to be impressive, and like it.

Edit; Nobody said anything about a game card slot, but since you brought it up it's for customers who care to give gifts (think Christmas) and some people prefer buying physical copies of games.

I was not talking about Nintendo offerings on Android. I was talking about the library in general. There is naturally a near endless amount of dross but as long as you can filter it in some way then it does not really matter. Once you do there is now quite a lot to be said for android, early days were so much microtransactions, advert solitaire and the like, today there is quite a bit of long form gameplay and the short form stuff is almost there as well (still reckon the DS probably has some better examples).

Never quite got the "if you don't like it" line, and I will continue to not buy it just as I skipped the 3ds, wii u and got shot of my wii fairly early on. To go one further though I really enjoyed what I played of the GBC, the GBA was fantastic for me when I finally came back in and the DS was like the GBA just refined a bit further. The DSi was a fizzle but nobody really minded as the DS continued along, and then the 3ds just was a wet fart for the most part.
At no point during that were Nintendo's offerings the thing that made it for me, it was not necessarily good in spite of Nintendo's offerings and certainly was not good because of them. They were just another face in the crowd, and actually probably a weaker one, give or take my fondness for advance wars and starfy. To that end when I see the pattern of the 3ds, wii and wii u repeating I am inclined to say something.

I have done my homework. But I got my info from elsewhere.
My uncle works at Nintendo and he says you're wrong :(

I've never seen a tablet with an X1.
And that's relevant because?
The Tegra X1 was built for mobile gaming. A Nividia Shield X1 tablet wasn't released yet but there was a FCC filling for a Tablet with the Tegra X1 a year ago.

Whenever you like it or not, the Switch is just a tablet running Nintendo games. A portable, stronger Wii U gamepad with detachable controller-sides.

IIRC TEGRA X1 was made for the Shield TV / SWITCH, the FCC report is surely the POC for the SWITCH for testing purposes, no tablets runs a X1...
A "tablet" is something you can multitask on, browse internet, listen music, watch movies, take pictures, install apps and play games with a quite nice battery also.
The SWITCH is a portable console with touchscreen and a screen that can be deported to TVs, period.

It's not hard to tell the difference...
Because with your thinking, if a TV was with touchscreen what would it be ? A big tablet for living room ? A screen with touchscreen don't make it a tablet...

Except Nvidia's own website calls it a mobile processor.

That makes literally no sense but okay~

Lets look at the definition of what a tablet is "A tablet computer, commonly shortened to tablet, is a mobile computer with a touchscreen display, which is usually in color, processing circuitry, and a rechargeable battery in a single thin, flat package."
Oh look being a multimedia device is not a criteria for a tablet! But wait there is more! If you go to Wikipedia's Gaming tablet section you can see this nice little tidbit "The Nintendo Switch console is a gaming tablet.". And before you start you weak defense "wikipedia is not a reliable source", it is. It is constantly updated and moderated by people who have far bigger understanding of the subject matter than you or me.

And tbh. the switch not being multitask-able is a blessing in disguise. Or are you of the opinion that Nintendo should waste resources on Multitasking features, rather than running games on higher settings, that not many will find use for just so that the device will fit you headcanon definition of a tablet? I don't even get why you guys are so defensive about this. As if calling the switch a tablet was a bad thing. It literally isn't.
Why waste resources on a music player when most people are gonna using spotify or apple music or whatever, through their phones anyway. Same can be said for literally anything else. Sorry but on that front I believe Ninty made a good decision. Most gaming tablets lack power because they're running operating systems that are designed for multitasking and not single purpose tablet gaming. Making Switch OS be just for gaming and nothing else is the best decision they could've made.

Because with your thinking, if a TV was with touchscreen what would it be ? A big tablet for living room ? A screen with touchscreen don't make it a tablet...
I guess you're not familiar with the term "Smart-TV"?
