Dump Hardware Wii U

    I am realizing the iosuhax with an emunand. Everything work fine.

    So i decided to save the hack doing a save of my nand.

    With Sdio Nand extractor i can make 3 different type of save.
    • MLC
    • SLC
    For me it s not very clear in my head :), when i made a backup of nand of other console i got only 1 file.
    I thinks there is maybe a VWII and Wii U part , but that make 2 part not 3 ! ;)

    I read somewhere Vwii nand was in another bank of Nand.

    So what i could use for dumping in hardware my wii u nand ?
    Why there is 3 files to save ?

    You need all three. That's how it was designed. The first two are for wiiu the third one for vwii.

    Ok i made research.

    if i am correct : MLC SLC = Wii U system
    SLCMPT = Vwii

    Now how to dump, i read there is two type of nand.
    I see diagram for dump with Teensy 2 and another for dump like a sd card, but tutorial for SD card is not very clear, i guess you must have special chipset for read....

    What parts do you brick if you format emunand ?

    Basically Wii U has a switchable 1GB NAND with two 512 blocks that are Wii U NAND and vWii NAND. On top of this there is eMMC flash storage storing OS data etc, as well as user installed data (saves, updates, games, etc.) - MLC being either 8 gigs or 32 gigs in size.
