Hello, i have a black wii U.

Yesterday i did a complete factory reset on the console.
proceeded with the first steps of modding, which is the Wii U nand dumper (that takes more than one hour to finish)

During the dump of MLC, from time to time i started to see a retry count. About 30 minutes waiting i saw a 1 retry, then some time after i saw a "2" retry, and so on. When the dump was about to finish i saw a 5 retry count total.

does that mean my nand backup is useless? and that the console has corrupted nand?
how can i check if the nand backup is good, in order to save it for the future

Retry means the eMMC has trouble reading. 5 is the max retry, after that it will just ignore errors. Since you factory resetted anyway, there is not much worth in the mlc backup, since your savegames and everything are gone anyway. The MLC can just be rebuilt if needed: https://gbatemp.net/threads/how-to-upgrading-rebuilding-wii-u-internal-memory-mlc.636309/

To deal with the failing eMMC, I would suggest you take a look at the "failing eMMC" section here: https://gbatemp.net/threads/ultimat...reset-black-screen-after-stuck-update.642339/
