Hi All,

I have a 3DS v. 2.1.0-4U and a Supercard DSTwo. I downloaded the 1.11 EOS at http://down.supercard.cn/download/dstwo/DSTWO_v1.11_0723_eng.zip along with the 1.12 firmware at http://down.supercard.sc/download/dstwo/Firmware/Firmware_v1.12_eng.zip and dropped all the contents to the ROOT of my 8gb Micro SD.

I then inserted the MicroSD into my DSTwo and updated it to 1.12 on my DSi. However, after I insert the DSTwo into my 3DS and run it I still get the "error" screen. My 3DS displays the Alex Rider image and my DSi is able to not only run the DSTwo but also play DS Roms. Can someone please help me figure out what I did wrong?

I followed the GBATemp.net instructions: http://www.prlog.org/11640639-supercard-dstwo-comatible-with-3ds-210-4u.html but still can't get the DSTwo to run on my 3DS

Thanks in advance.

Hey there.
I think I have the solution, I had a similar problem, and by god it worked.
Just leave the 3DS on for about two minutes while in the "error" screen. Then format the SD card and copy everything
back over. Try it then. I think there is more involved then this, but this will get you in the general ball park to a good search around the forums for better answers. Thats where I found it anyway. Drove me nuts!

That icon is the boot-strap used for a previous update. I don't know which one the current one is. I'm not sure how you updated, but you should try again.

Tutorial for how to update when you don't have another system, other than a 3ds with firmware 2.1.0-4 (just in case you don't have another system): http://forum.supercard.sc/thread-8832-1-1.html

If your dstwo is bricked for some reason try this and then update to the latest: http://forum.supercard.sc/thread-8384-1-3.html

Hey, what do you meant that's the boot strap for the previous update? That was the latest link that I could find. Can you please elaborate? Or can anyone else in the forums link me to an updated version that's not on the official site? I've tried searching the web for an updated version after reading this post but can't locate a link to anything newer. Thanks for the response everyone!

He said he has a DSi, that's not a problem for him, and he didn't mention it being bricked. Different icons are used for the DSi and the 3DS so that could indeed be the right one (though i'm not sure as I only have a DS Lite)

@OP: That guide you linked to is scraped, don't give that site clicks, go to the original guide

Anyways, did you actually see the update work on your DSi? and are you pressing the flashcart firmly into the slot?

Hey, Bump!

I am having the same problem, like a carbon cut copy of it. The only exception is that it worked once, and only once, it booted to the menu like it should have on the 3ds, then when i though all was well and put my roms on it, it was back to being non responsive and giving me the oh so frustrating error message.

I read a few times on another forum that it has something to do with the cpu being slow from the first batch of dstwo cards to ever be produced, can any one confirm this?

Other notes, it works fine on my ds lite, it updated correctly from what i can tell. and i have followed every guide to the note a dozen times and tried everything i can think of!

yall im torn... ive been hacking away at tales of phantasia GBA (the USA version) and have so many documents of reverse engineering i've done
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I just found out that the EU version is better in literally every way, better sound quality, better lighting, and there's even a patch someone made to make the text look nicer
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
Do I restart now using what i've learned on the EU version since it's a better overall experience? or do I continue with the US version since that is what ive been using, and if someone decides to play my hack, it would most likely be that version?
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@TwoSpikedHands, I'll preface this with the fact that I know nothing about the game, but, I think it depends on what your goals are. Are you trying to make a definitive version of the game? You may want to refocus your efforts on the EU version then. Or, are you trying to make a better US version? In which case, the only way to make a better US version is to keep on plugging away at that one ;)
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I'm not familiar with the technicalities of the differences between the two versions, but I'm wondering if at least some of those differences are things that you could port over to the US version in your patch without having to include copyrighted assets from the EU version
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though
