Hacking DSTWO doesnt show up!

Iḿ a little annoyed at this. I would like to use my dstwo for my dsi and 3ds but it doesnt show up. It showed up every time before I opened up the gateway installer on my dsi. It still runs fine, although I can get into it 1/30 times ive taken it out and put it back in. I heard its a thing that I have to clean the copper tips at the end, but im not sure if thats gonna make it worse or not. Thanks everyone.
PS: I wouldnt be afraid to break into the thing if it came to that.

...Why were you trying to run the Gateway installer on a DSi? It's targeted at the 3DS.

I'm sure it was the same reason I did it. I just got my card and there are no easy to find guides that explain what to do if you have a dsi and what the gateway installer is for. I mostly fixed the problem by wiping the micro sd card and starting new. It shows up about 80% of the time now.
