ive looked at data the Upgrade for DSTTi and the new R4ids Gold 1.4.2
there is very little difference
if you patch the V142_Patch_NDSi.nds

it should Boot and pass the check then allow the Wood 1.29 for R4iGold firmware to work

this is only a theory but should work and allow DSTTi to work on 3DS and DSi 1.4.2

I think DSTTi and R4iGold have different hardware...

But if this allow to update it might be interesting for old R4iGold that gets the "No update needed" error message.

What Hex editing software have you used, some line modification are obvious, but some others I can't find which number to alter ()

R4iGold are a clone of a DSTTi IIRC
yes it should be possible to do Old R4iGold but i dont know the Data to identify the old one

Can you upload it to megaupload or similar?


Just execute the .nds file on a DS, DSL or DSi pre 1.4.2.
Just like a regular rom.

I would honestly wait till Pong comes back so you can have him check your file (and mine) to see if it's done right. Even then, there is still a decent chance of bricking your card. Just wait, I recommend.

BTW- what MD5 sum did you get for your modified file? Mine was:

Boots up and fails to update.


It doesn't pass the card check.

BTW, I am using Retrogamefan's firmware.
