As we all know or should know this is part of the first steps 4 DSi hacking..congrats to everyone involed and keep up the good work

Well I am not the greatest C++ programmer, but I'm good with other languages, and especially good with hardware (emphases on especially). Anyway i'm getting a DSi in less than a month. I'll open it up and see it I can figure anything out. I'll also work on dumping the firmware and such. Maybe I can figure something out in there since i used to program assembly on my TI-89.

EDIT: You should probably get in touch with the teams that found the Zelda exploit on Wii as well as the people who created the Wii homebrew channel. If the DSi firmware structure is as similar to the Wii's as I've heard it is, the IOS's are probably quite similar too, which could lead to a faster development.

EDIT 2: In my research I have found this information, which may or may not be useful, but the browser bit could be especially useful, and the picture file could be part of how Yasu hacked the DSi. idk but here's the info: "I have been looking for vulnerabilities in the web browser and a strange
database file that was saved to the memory card. The file is in the
"private" folder and was created by the DSi camera application upon saving
images to the card. it appears to be used for determining where images are
stored on the card. I have also discovered that the browser supports the
XMLHttpRequest object and cookies can be permanently saved to the system
memory."

Wow. Last I heard of the DSi was that it was impossible to hack, then the DSTTi and the AKi came out, and now this. Keep up the good work!

I'm willing to beta test. I have a AUS DSi and if needed the EZ-Flash Vi

I also found out you can use "PS3 proxy server"to see what the DSi is doing. It can also redirect files etc.
It works not just for the PS3 but the PSP and Wii and I just found out the DSi also.

Hi, I'm new to GBAtemp.net but NOT NDSL/NDSI/WII/PC Programming and I'm willing to beta test it.

I am willing to beta test...but currently I don't have my DSi yet.

I will in June, and seeing as how we're just getting started with this...I doubt it will be ready for like final testing before June.

I mean I'm new to the forums and I know a lot about NDSL/NDSi/WII/PC Programming and I want to Beta Test it. And I have a DSi.

I suggest you goto the actual site for the Homebrew Channel if you're good at PC Programming.

We could use some programmers for the channel.

Here's the forums:

Sorry when I meant PC Proggramming I meant old games such as DOOM or Quake II and getting games to work and hacking stuff not specifically editing code. My bad.

So you only know how to get games to work, and that's called programming

? lol.

OnTopic: I can't wait! I'm curious how you're going to find an signing-exploit or how you're going to get the Homebrew channel on multiple DSi's... that's the first step to get this on the DSi.
And i want to beta-test, but i have 1 problem: i don't have an flashcard

ay i might be able to be a beta tester... i got a dsi and a dstti

What firmware are you running i am waiting for my dstti and i hope it works with the
firmware on my dsi 1.3u i might be able to be a beta tester i dig the homebrews on my wii and my ds with DSM3

yea it should work because im running the same firmware ... i am having one problem though... i have final fantasy tactics a2 and it wont run anymore. it used to run on my regular ds and its the only game that doesnt work

@DeltaBurnt - Unfortunately, we'd need to find an exploit in the system that allows us to load a homebrew/DSiWare loader into the DSi, like tha Wii with the Twilight Hack. In the DSi only the music player and camera read off the SD, and very strictly (If you edit one of the DSi's photos from the SD card, the DSi will refuse to display it). It would just be easier to put the loader in the flashcard for now, even if it has to be used only once (like the Twilight Hack). Priority is to get the hack going, then we simplify it later.

Didn't Yasu find an exploit in the DSi's firmware? The one he used to display the 'Hello World' message? There was also something about an exploit in FIFA 08, or one of the FIFA games for the DS... But I don't remember much about that. Sorry ._.

He/She did, but apparently he/she doesn't feel like releasing it.
I think it was just a bluff.
Also I think it would be easier to exploit the DSi using a save file based on DSiWare.
Just a possible idea, since DS games don't run save data outside their cartridges.

This project is useless. None of you knows anything about "hacking". You'll plan how to do things, but you don't know how to do them. You'll continue until the real hackers find an exploit. The end.

Snikerz i cant say i agree woth you because from the looks of things... there is some type of progress
