Any estimation on how it will be installed (through an exploit in an application, with the SD slot, with a flash cart, etc.)?

I'm curious as to the process you took to decompile the files/ what files you decompiled.
I want to work on this also, but can't figure out how you got them decompiled.

ay i might be able to be a beta tester... i got a dsi and a dstti

What firmware are you running i am waiting for my dstti and i hope it works with the
firmware on my dsi 1.3u i might be able to be a beta tester i dig the homebrews on my wii and my ds with DSM3

I've got a DSi and an AK2i if more testers are needed, but I have 0 experience beyond end-user experience... Count me in for following the thread... Good to see progress is being made

*Hell, I just want to get rid of the H&S screen

Btw, I think the topic title is slightly misleading, we are only just beginning progress and we have not succesfully decrypted ANYTHING, aiming for a homebrew channel at such an early stage isn't rational.

If someone can figure out how to get a DSiWare app running on any DS, then someone should have been able to decompile it, edit it, and design their own channel that will allow the booting of other channels/apps.
With this ability, someone could also read the SD card from the homebrew channel and allow booting of items from the SD card.

It's an excellent idea!

It could make slot-1 cards a thing of the past! But we are thinking too far ahead. First let's figure out how to get the DSiware to run on multiple systems.

that's what i mean.

desumodnoc like i said in a previous post i am available to help with the beta testn in anyway

Your going to need 2 things before you can beta test anything:

- The DSi Common Key
- An exploit capable of running code.

This claimed 'decompiled' Warioware game is simply encrypted, or else garbage files entirely. Trust me, anything off NUS (Nintendo's servers) is encrypted via AES 128-bit. It cannot be decrypted without a common key used in turn to decrypt the title's own Title Key.

brute force it XDDDDD

Your going to need quite the computer to do that. Aside from that, you would only discover the Title Key. Those keys are already present (encrypted form) with System Titles / anything with predesigned tickets. The time it would take to match both up with the common key would be enormous.

I'll brute force it if someone can present the key and the encryption type.

UPDATE 4.11.09 5:45 PM PST
- Dan has found the proxy settings for the DSi firmware. "I think we can
probably work off some of the Wii stuff now. It seems quite similar."

Considering you need no "proxy settings" for "Wii stuff," I highly doubt this is a major breakthrough.

The "DSi stuff" is indeed quite similar. TMDs are the same, cetk (tickets) are the same, it's all the same.
