Wow...just wow....

First the PS3, now the DSi.

This isn't the same.

The PS3 had all its keys dumped (Private, Blu-Ray, et al)

But the DSi is just the common key. So the same as the Wii.

Yes, but it still marks the beginning of something big to come.

I'd assume however that the Private Key would be individual for each console.

i don't get it, we already have homebrew on ds... what extra does this allow for?

Yeah, but that is just DS mode.
This will allow us to use the DSi mode stuff (Extra RAM, both cameras, SD card slot et al)

Apparently.
There was also the DSi exploit announced through ozmodchips around christmas time, although we've still not heard any more about that, not even the video that was promised.

Something similar. I am not sure the details about what they did. But I know they didn't release the key.
So now homebrew coders can code without needing to buy or have the iEVO cart.

If I understnad correctly anyway.

Don't think so.
Since at the moment those card only use DS mode.

If I understnad correctly you won't need a flachcart. But don't quote me on that since I may be wrong)

so lets get cracking call the hackers and flash card makers give them this to use to make some stuff tell us how to use it and make homebrew boot from SD
The hackers have had the key for ages, they just didn't make it public unnecessarily and cause a commotion with people thinking "Yay, now we get DSi mode homebrew".

NEWSFLASH: This does NOT allow flash carts to run in DSi mode. This does NOT allow code to run without a flash cart or exploit. This does NOT allow you to install a custom channel.

It ONLY
allows you to decrypt existing DSi stuff. That is IT
.

EDIT: More emphasis, need to make sure this isn't over rated etc.

I think it will be easier for hackers to find xploits with this key.
Pretty much.
Mind you, Bushing is going to be pretty busy right now with the PS3 hacking and Sony being anal, so he might not do anything about the DSi for the while.
Regardless if he already had the common key or not.
