Hacking DSI 1.4U

I'm sure this question has been asked and answered many times already but i couldn't find anything. I have a dsi 1.4u and I;m not sure what flash cart to get. Can I get a flast cart that's already programmed (I've read some post where you need a ds in order to program the card)? How do I go about backing up my games ?

Basically from the list of flashcarts available, I'd recommend an AceKard 2i or a SuperCard DSTwo. There are other options too (R4i DSN, R4i Gold), but I don't own one of those myself so I can't comment on that. But look at the list and compare products and then ask away
