I had an idea to create a windows-side (rather than DS-side) skin installer for the DSTwo.
Since theres so many different parts now to the DSTwo skins, installing them is becoming a bit of a nuisance.
Skin Up is all well and good, but doesn't patch DSGAME.nds (just replaces it with an older version), and it doesn't support all of the other possible skin types (SNES, iReader, etc), plus all skins on it need to be added to the server.
So I was wondering if people would like me to make a program that does this? If not, I won't bother making it, but if enough people want it I don't mind making it, as I think it'll come in handy.
I was thinking of making a proprietary skin format, something like .ds2skin, and people can use the program to package their skins into this format and share them online (on FileTrip perhaps). The format will be able to optionally support all forms of DS2 skin (and be expandable). The program will then look through the .ds2skin file and install the supplied skin types. So if a skin only has GBA and Plugins skins, the package will only contain and install those parts.
If I do make this, I may at some point make a DS based installer for the skin packages, although I don't have any plans to do this presently.
