I replaced the upper screen of my DS Lite and everything is working fine except that when I try to close the screen, the DS turns COMPLETELY off when the screens are aligned at a 90º angle.

If I try to turn the DS on with the screen in that position, the battery led flashes a second but nothing happens. I also noticed that if I move the screen a little bit, it flickers.

I read that the DS lite has a sensor in one of the hinges (don't know which one) that triggers sleep mode when both screens are close.

Could that be it? Can it be fixed? It's A BIT annoying...

Thank you.

The DS lite will turn to sleep mode because of the magnets usednin the speakers, so when they are close, the magnetic force is enough to trigger some kind of mechanism and that happens.

90° is far from when it should enter sleep mode, and since your device is turning completely off, I'd guess there's something wrong with the screen connection.

Try removing the screen and placing it again carefully, then test.
