examine the save with a hex editor. I had maybe two of my own personal saves that got corrupted. not sure how it happened, but in hex it was a just continuous sequence of F's.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

btw, that wasn't the fault of twilight menu++. the saves were corrupt on the cartridges I ripped them from. 2 or 3 out of 100 or so saves.

I see that from two versions ago, a widescreen and filtering option for 3DS users appeared in the settings menu. Are these working? Or are just placeholders until said features are functional? Because I see no effect when turned on (still I use Sono's patcher for filters).

Another question:
The automatic AP patching, like some flashcards make to the roms when loaded, will be implemented to this? Or is there something impeding it so we need to do the manual patching to roms? Anyway, thank you very much for this, it makes the 3DS a true all in one machine :D.

The screen size option was replaced with widescreen, and yes it will work, when the patcher with widescreen support is released and used.

It is currently unknown how to implement it.

Do you happen to know if playing the official carts fixs the crash problems? and also, is it possible to still execute cheats from the SD directory menu, ie, the dsi/r4/acekard themes, i am looking into purchasing some 2nd hand copies, because the crash issues on platinum and HGSS are getting beyond frustrating.
I haven't experienced any crashes, but I also haven't spent any real time playing the games. I was just concerned with getting my save file to load. I also haven't tried any cheats or themes, so I can't help you with any of your questions.

Every time when i open Twiligt Menu, after the Nintendo DSi screen it starts automatically with a NDS rom. I think my son touched anything on the options XD How to enter to the Twilight Menu options when i'm running a NDS game?

Sorry, I'm not very expert, but do I need a DSiWare exploit even if I use the R4 flashcart instructions? I guess yes, considering I have a black screen when I try to launch the fake Konami game on Home screen.
Is there any simple tutorial for it?

No, you do not need a DSiWare exploit.

Oh I see, I suppose it is different than the method used in Flashcarts, I wish Yasu/Wood Goblin were here to help, they knew a lot regarding these sort of things, but they are gone unfortunately :(.

Using 8.5.1 TWLM++ and nds-bootstrap v0.21.2.

In Mugen no Frontier EXCEED whenever I hit save at a save point the game responds with the audio cue for selecting the option but then hangs. The default save file exists at sdroot\romfolder\saves (512KB) but clearly isn't being written to or loading (restarting the game there is no continue option, only new game) so it must not see the save file.

It is a .sav and it has the same name as the ROM.

The game is translation patched via xDeltaUI but the patched ROM works fine on R4 card (on my regular DS) or on windows and drastic emulator. Only issue is with saves on 3DS using SD.

@Robz8 i found a bug maybe you should look at?

V in this thread as you know that new development is being made about DS mode and such V

https://gbatemp.net/threads/sharp-ds-i-mode-scaling-filters.542694/

once you change your filter to something else with Sono's TWPatch homebrew your TWiLight Menu++ updater crashes and also does TWiLight Menu++

im using old 3ds and latest luma

TWPatch does not change how the updater and the app works.

idk what but on my setup is messing it up.

when its Nintendo default its fine, but once i change it to say: sono's crisp (tweaked) thats when things get messy

i do more test. might be my setup.

I've been out of the loop for a long while.

I tried installing Twilight Menu ++ for the first time through its own updater, but as soon as I start it up I get greeted with this:
2CgF2lm.png

Any help?
For what it's worth, my system is still at 11.6.0-39E (with b9s) and Luma is probably a bit outdated, but I have no idea if that's what's causing issues.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
