Either way, they're both in Japanese; therefore the releases don't really count and are merely filler space between coherent releases.
If these games are the same except for the movies, I'll bet you could unpack both versions using DSlazy and swap out the movie files, thus transforming them into each other!

And why japanese releases dont count? I play most games at japanese release and Then I have to wait less. If you cant understand japanese its not that hard lol theres a few websites that can teach you in less than a year but jap arent filler space lol thinking like that might as well say USA and EU roms are just remakes of original games for people who cant learn japanese.GreenBanana said:

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.+1 -

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.
The issue is DRM -

You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60
