well ive been playing the us version and i must say that the online system is very good, clans leaderboards,well its true that it could be boring after a time
but with some friends to compete you almost can burn the touchscreen with all that scratching

Most likely it's to avoid paying the Olympic Organization the licensing fees.

Not to mention there are many events in the game not considered 'Track' or 'Field', like swimming and rowing.
