DS #0830: Picross DS (Japan)

Well I got it working on my M3 with these options:

Software Reset
4xDMA
Force R/W
Trim Rom

Works perfectly on the latest writer and firmware.
This is a fantastic game.

Oh and thanks a lot to wabo for the translation of the menu.

Three cheers for this game! I was just wondering if/when Nintendo would release a new "Mario Picross"...the touchscreen makes too much sense for this one. You'd think with sudoku-mania around the States that Nintendo would wisen up and port this post-haste......

I've played a ton of picross games (I love them), and have a bunch of books for it. I would usually say the Picross volumes for SNES are the best, but this blows them away. This is without a doubt the best picross game yet. It even has minigames!

Works fine on my R4, loads quick as well. Don't even have a fast TF card. I thought they were the same hardware? Could the firmware really make a difference like this? Is the firmware even different on any more than a superficial level? More people test this on R4 and M3 Simply please!

has anyone managed to get this saving on the supercard lite? What settings are you using?
Whenever i restart the game, all the solved puzzles disappear.

Yeah, I noticed that too. When i show my friend I think I'll rename my save in DSOrganise so he can play the first few.

From selecting the game in the R4 menu it takes 5 seconds of the "game loading" bar to get to the nintendo screen and a further 5 to get to the title screen. I've trimmed the rom, dunno if that makes any difference to the loading time. Just how long is the 'ages' it's taking for people having problems? I'm using latest R4 firmware and a taiwan Sandisc 1gig FAT16 64k cluster.

I am a picross maniac as well. Besides the original GB Picross and the japan-only sequal Picross 2, is the first Picross title since those? I am willing to try any game that can satisfy my fix!

I think it's the most recent game called Picross but there are other games with the same type of puzzles on the DS.

0311 Oekaki Puzzle Battle (J) is my favorite.
0813 Essential Sudoku DS is in English and that's the best thing I can say about it.

I gotta say, for any of you who enjoy puzzle games (especially things like sudoku), give this a try. No real need to know japanese (though it would be nice to eventually have this released in english). Just starting the 15x15 puzzles now, getting challenging!

No, it's different. In Minesweeper, the number you see only tells you how many mines are in the adjacent squares. Picross gives you clues as to what squares need to be filled in. It's MUCH more enjoyable than minesweeper.
