You don't have to synthize one, just go to the temple in the 1st island. You might find a king slime there,if you don't just quicksave and load until you find it.that's what I did

You can just go back to the cave and return. It's much faster /=
btw synching ALWAYS >>>>>>> scouting. Because newborn gets 1/4 of its parents stats and 1/2 of it parents skill points

Hmm, which of these monsters should I synth?
King Bubble Slime
Demon-at-Arms
Great Dragon
Living Statue
Tortured Soul
or Yabby? Please help. >_

Great Dragon for pretty good stats per level up (he gets pretty powerful per level compared to most monsters).

The Demon-At-Arms is what I use. He can act twice per turn (first action is determined based on his tactic strategy, second action is always a physical attack). Great at fast and brutal damage. He levels decently as well.

Everything else is "meh" at best. The real classes begin at S rank and X rank (little to no difference, stats and strengths wise).

My current team setup is a fully geared A rank team, with Demon-At-Arms, Bubble Slime King (regret this guy, only good for synthing into gem slime, best kept at King Cure Slime for Healer trait) and a Bone Baron (A rank undead, counterattack is nice

Yeah, I haven't used any cheats for this game -- been waiting too long for it to ruin it for myself with that -- so it's been slow going. I went for the final boss last night, but got pwned toward the end. Since there were a few lesser bosses before (ala any of Square / Enix's old-school RPGs), it was quite a push to get there. Now I've synthed one of my main dudes and trying to leveling him. But so far I think I still only have one A-rank monster (dark slime) and two B-rank monsters -- arch demon (who I just synthed from a gryphon and some kind of armor thing) and a tortured soul. I haven't been following any guides on synthing either, so it's been trial & error, which is fun.

I've been having such a great time with this game though. I hate to see it end. Glad I took my time with it somewhat.

Demon-at-Arms
Great Dragon
Jamirus

I'm currently stuck. Where do I go after the doggie become a a little dirty, and I save my daddy? It says infern island but even after traveling around I see nothing to progress my quest.

Truth be told, the way to conquer this game is not really by old school leveling. Synthing the right monster to get the right combination of skills/stats is the way. I took my time to create a king cure slime and a Gryph to create an anti-magic curing Jamirus with double trouble. Yanked his attack up stats and what do I get? One that can cure and attack at the same turn.

Tough boss with stupid mass magic? I just use my fizzle.

What combination are you trying to get? My personal favourites are the demon-at-arms, living statue and Tortured soul. If you can combine the demon-at-arms with some dragon slaying abilities, and some other attack abilities he will be godlike. Living statue works great with some top notch healing spells, and tortured souls works with good anti-magic spells (Like Magic Fraility).

You're talking about the same thing, only with a game like this you're actually doing more level-grinding than a traditional, old-school RPG because you're taking time out to synth new monsters and then level them.

As for where you need to go, simply go through the altar door on Infern -- the one you were previously unable to enter.

finished the whole game (including secret final boss)

my party:
Tortured Soul (Rank A +7)
Demon-at-Arms (Rank A +7)
Buffalogre (Rank A +7)

was:
level 30-31 when fighting Dr Snapped
level 40-41 when fighting Solitaire
level 40-41 when fighting Estark

i found Solitaire as the hardest

Am I the only one not progressing through the game because I keep synthing and training monsters?

I'm over 6 hours into the game and I've only got one Darkonium Crystal.

But I've synthed over 10 monsters

Wish there was a "Gain 500 EXP" code so I can get the synthed monsters I want, yet not go overboard while training them.

This game is really fun, but i'm stuck. I just got the letter from the french guy telling me to fight commander zat or something at the moon/sun place. He appeared after i put the sun tablet in, anyone know what i'm supposed to do?

Edit: I've figured out what to do.

I'd rather use Killer Mech. Which is what I used, and somehow am maintaining my 3rd place regional rank.

Edit: I finally finished the library! Now I'm going to retire for two days from this game to play something else. >>;

New characters for me now!

Killer Mech +1
Alabast Dragon +5
Malroth +7

I'm so proud of my new babies!
