So I have been reading boatloads on the forums, particularly this thread: https://gbatemp.net/threads/simple-guide-to-downgrading-your-3ds.407888/ (everyone: yeah right ) and looking up ways to do this.

From my understanding, you have to upgrade to 10.3, then go to 9.2, right? Thing is, I don't see a whole lot of people with my firmware version, they have all kinds of wacky firmwares. Obviously I don't want to be stupid and brick the thing ( shiny gold bling!)

I have all the 9.2.0-20U(full)_n3DS yada yada prepared cia stuff, so is the general consensus to just upgrade to 10.3 and then back down? I've scoured the internet for hours, and there isn't a completely clear cut answer, the closest I get is don't just straight downgrade to 9.2 from 9.9.0-26U, but then again, none of this stuff is, I guess that's the fun of it. Just wondering if it's possible, or if my 3DS might explode, do back flips, or whatever 3DS's do when they can't downgrade properly. Seems like a lot get a soft brick in the event of failure.

Upgrading to 10.3 will not work anymore (or to say it won't be that easy anymore) as the latest version now is 10.5. Upgrading to anything over 10.3 means you are out of luck to ever downgrade.

What you now need is a way to boot HBL (Homebrew Launcher) by smea. Since you are on firmware 9.9 the only way I think of is using CN or OOT game (search for the tutorial for it). Once you are in HBL you can follow the downgrade to 9.2 guide using sysupdater (by Julian) or safesysupdater.

Since he uses a N3DS, he can use browserhax.
I can't recommend that as it would ask to update when launched (there is a tutorial on how to use it to run browserhax at right moment), I haven't tested it.
And if it arrived with 9.9 out of box or updated to 9.9 using game cart, chances are it is just a dummy browser.

No worries, I have ol' Ironhax, menu hax, and I need to get rid of my DNS for Tubehax. I usually boot into menuhax. I've just stayed on 9.9.0-26U for a while, sorry for the confusion.

Stay at 9.9 -> check to make sure your update file checksum are in no way corrupted -> use your method for the HBL, since you're on a n3ds, you can still use browserhax -> read downgrade instructions slowly and 5 times -> get into downgrader -> downgrade -> install your cfw of choice -> install browserhax -> install menuhax -> pirate games

Thanks for the reply. That's what I'm worried about the most. The checksum. What's the most efficient way to check this? Do you recommend SafeSysUpdater?

Edit 2: I got it working! But, I need a good CFW. Any recommends guys and gals?

Edit: Scrub lord here. Safesysupdate says the files are good. Do through SafeSysupdate or Sysupdate? Some people say, that safe hangs at blackscreen.

Hell not sure what was going on but for like a few weeks MP3's sounded muffled, some driver or Windows update fixed it. Thank god lol

I'd sooner buy the Meze 109 Pro if I was dropping that much on headphones. I don't even like buds/IEMs

I got the Google Pixel Pro buds, they're good enough for when I need portable audio. And some really cheap IEMs that Dankpods recommends, I think the KZ ZSN Pro

I'd stick with cheapo Chinese $10 ones quality is actually becoming on pair with name brand since name Brand usually quads the price up anyway loose one bud that's another $200

My Pixel Pro buds shit the bed a month or two ago. My wireless charger (which they do support Qi charging) absolutely COOKED them. Caused some problem that caused the case to heat up to 180F+
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
They were like 9 months out of warranty but I hit up Google support anyway and told them how hot they were getting and they replaced them with new ones because they wanted these for failure analysis lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    lol wireless charging
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Yeah that's why I can't bring myself to even spend $100 on wireless earbuds
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think it's a cool idea but damn
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
Apparently the case has a problem with >15W wireless chargers. Google design fault, that one.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
I could live with wireless charging if the damn standard case doesn't block connection
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    how is wireless charging possible?

    Copper conducting electricity or something
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@Xdqwerty, power through a coil of wire causes an electromagnetic field to be generated. Another coil of wire can be set up to harness the power from that electromagnetic field and turn it into usable energy for charging a device
