Fuck yes!!! This is the solution. I have 4.0 with no cIOS but I had HBC installed. So I ran this and am back to 3.2u. Will install Softmii now.

I dunno if this is against the rules but I have cios_fix.wad so PM me if you want it.

Worked like a charm for me too!!!

Downgraded to 3.2U and reupgraded to 4.0 with the Wana's installer.

Thanks a freakin ton to all those involved in making this happen!!!

Nice work. But how does it enable you to install IOS35? With the 4.0 IOS you can't delete or overwrite an IOS, so that's the really interesting part.

@Everybody with trucha signed discs:
You need all games IOS in the versions before the trucha bug was fixed, installing any other IOS like the cIOS won't help. Go to WiiBrew and inform you about the IOS Versions available, and use the NUS downloader to get wads for all IOS with a version

I'm having a problem with this - it appears that update_download.exe doesn't download anything

what can I do?

Do you have a firewall? What do you mean by, "appears", what does it do?

I don't have an active firewall. I tried running the update_download.exe file myself, and it creates the directory and then exits w/o downloading anything

Could this be caused by win7-x64?

Can I get the result file somewhere?

I'm not interested about downgrading but just want to know how that works:

4) On the Wii, launch the Homebrew Channel and select CMDVDX34, then pick "Downgrade IOS35", wait for it to end and come back to the menu, then exit.

where does this CMDVDX34 comes from ? is that the original DVDX34 installer from Comex or what ?

QUOTE(If it says "Failed to add title, maybe you already ran this?", find IOS35-64-v1040.wad from a disk such as Brawl-Mario Kart-WiiFit, or "elsewhere" and install it using WMIOS35 or a regular Wad Manager, then exit and continue to follow this guide).

how can you install an older IOS version if you don't have a cIOS ?

seams so to me.

looks like comex made a 'mistake' and the installer resets the version number of ios35 to 0 or what ever. i have no idea how he is able to do that but that's the way it looks like. afterwards you can install any version newer than 0 => you can install any version of ios35 you want to.

Yes, I said it at the end of the post.

QUOTE(Jacobeian @ Apr 8 2009, 11:40 AM)

It seems that DVDX 3.4 changes (I don't know how) the version in the IOS35 tmd to 0, then it downloads v1040 from NUS and simply installs it. That error appears if somehow you had changed the version, but downloading from NUS failed (for example, if you had no active connection when you first ran the program).
So, if the IOS35 version is 0 you can install the trucha enabled version with WAD Manager normally

it may be possible that someone make an homebrew that make all this in one time ?
I think this is not a good idea.
In my opinion the guide is very simple.

Also it is easier to watch out for errors.

when i load CMDVDX34 all i get is "seems to me that you are a pirate (press home to exit)" and i can't do anything, is there any way around this?

Maybe you have some Wads installed with Wad Manager?

Is anyone behind a proxy? The IOS Downgrader doesn't find the files to download, I think that the problem is the proxy...
Is there a configuration for this, my wii works normally on the internet...

An idea for people who get "seems to me that you are a pirate":
Is it possible to dump the nand on 4.0 or get fs dumper blocked.
And does Savegameextractor work on 4.0?

So we can dump our nand, save our saves and the format the wii and delete all.
I think this will be the way.
Later we can install all the channels again and our saves.

Can someone test it?

EDIT:
NO DONT TRY THIS.
ME->Dummy.

If you format your Wii the Homebrewchannel will be removed!!!!

DONT TRY!

Well can someone try to dump his nand?
