nothing, emunand holds no bearing over the downgrade process, if you want to could try formatting sysnand and see if that helps, but i dont think it will

if you really want to test it with no emunand you could just use a different SD if you have one handy

Same problem here. Wanted to downgrade in preperation for my Gateway coming. It is a red/black original 3ds. Bought on day of release so original firmware was on it. Tried to update on firmware 6.2, same fatal error number (00001001). Tried multiple SD cards. Tried updating to 7.2 via pokemon alpha sapphire, buty to no avail.

I was able to reset to the nand backup every time I have tried.

Emailed Gateway about it but no response as of yet. Also, the only email Gateway have is a sales address. This is written on their website: (Technical/support question will be IGNORED, see below for support)

The support is sending us to the maxconsole forums.

you should also email them, same info FW version, error code etc

I have already emailed them from several emails every time writing in a different style so they dont recognize me, and they always told me 'Sorry, we are not tech support. For tech support please go to maxconsole'. Severals users on maxconsole have this error but they still didnt fixed it...

Maxconsole can not help there too.

looks like your out of luck then, you will just have to either swap your console, just use gateway mode on 9.x sysnand, or wait and see if there is any new develpments

This error shows up when you forget to backup your sysnand. You should also have NAND.BIN in the SD card. Your SD Card should contain:

  • nand.bin
  • gateway.dg
  • launcher.dat
Are you sure you did a backup first?

Yes i´m Sure.
Downgrade Error comes at Step 7 crc writting
does it say "crc writing"? if so it does sound like they probably have a failsafe before installing each title, it may be that the people having error's have a partially updated system so when it comes to checking the final title it doesn't recognize which version it is, or see's that its a mismatched FW and just halts the install rather than risking a brick, seeing as your on 7.2, you could try updating to 8.1 with smash bros or something to make sure all the system FW matches
