Voted 1 and the flashcart I have is an R4i Gold 3DS (r4ids.cn) and the reason I got it is to pirate DS games and some DS homebrew even though most of my homebrew is done on my PSP.

I have 3 or 4 depending how you look at it (voted 3)

A DSTWO, a R4i (r4ids.cn the good one) and 2 AK2is (though the spring is broken one of them)

I don't use anything on my 3DS due to the possible bans for online (Yes I know they can't brick your 3DS but they can certainly ban you from all online things but that's offtopic)

Anywho, My fully working Acekard sits in my DS phat for the purposes of dumping games I actually buy.
In my DSi: My DSTWO is used for it's homebrew mainly. While my R4i is used for games and "normal" homebrew.

DSTWO & AK2i here, the dstwo was bought for the SNES/MD/GBA emu mainly, whilst the ak was for DS games.... I've got 2 small (well, not anymore!) kids that over the years have lost scores of DS games - it's nice to finally get to play them now! Plus, rather like the Wii, it's great to just fire up without noseying around for the card/disc....
To be honest regarding the dstwo it's only really getting used for the SNES emu now, as the latest revisions of the MD/GBA emus on the PSP are better on that screen... still, wouldn't do without either!

I currently own a DSTWO mainly for pirated games but rarely use it after getting a few 3DS games
I did have a Acekard 2i as well but sold it to a friend.

Actually, I have more than 3 but not as many as 35..... so I chose the lesser option (I actually have 6)

Also does 'Emulation' count as 'Homebrew' ?? - if so I also chose that
I use GBA & SNES emulator (occasionally)
Yea emulation would come under homebrew, don't want too many options, and changing it now would mess things up :P
Voted three, but have four.
Why do so many people have so many cards? Two i can understand but four?
i have one card. an acekard 2i. and i use it to pirate games and homebrew. and yeah, i pirate, so what.

Piracy is legal where i live :P
Well i know where i wanna move to now :P

Wow, so after a day of polling there are no votes for "none", besides:
no i don't have a flashcart, i never pirated anything in my life and i dunno what is that term pirates use so much, like gbatemp

but since they didn't vote i'm not counting them. Well the numbers make sense, the only reason i can think of someone not having a flashcart is being extremely afraid of being caught. Even if you're absolutely against piracy, you can still use it for homebrew. The majority seem to use flashcarts for pirated games.

Never said what i posted, i've had a Supercard DSONEi since May 2009, and use it pretty much only for pirated games. Back in 09 i used it for multimedia but that died when i got an iphone. I never actually knew about flashcarts before 2009, and very few people in my school actually knew about them. I don't even remember how i found out about them....anyways this poll was pretty interesting and i'm glad so many people voted :D

I have just one. I don't use it for piracy, I only use it for playing rom hacks of games that I actually own (usually Pokemon). However, I pirate GBA games, but I consider them old. I absolutely refuse to pirate DS games though, it feels wrong since they're still in the market.

There's a lot of reasons why people to have so many cards

1) They develop homebrew for the DS
- Having so many cards they can check to see which work & which don't with their programs
2) They brought a flashcard & didn't like it
I myself brought a M3iZero as it had a 'moonshell2' like interface (which I like) - but after getting it found it was more 'limited' on the multimedia side of things so went & brought a Ak2i instead
3) The cards are 'older' & rarely supported
I have a card that's not supported anymore - it won't play the latest games & only works on a DSLite/Phat - but it's handy for when my Nephew/Nieces pop over & want to play Mario Kart against me & they forgot to bring their DS's
4) They have more than 1 kid
I know families that get one for each of their kids (& perhaps one for themselves) - they still own all of them, just that some1 else uses it

also don't forget different homebrew for different systems. like ds2 exclusive homebrew, ievo dsi-mode homebrew, the ismartmm dingux port, and the iplayer/ismartmm gba emulator. its easy to grab 3-4 card if you just consider homebrew and features. i think the people who have more than 10 cards are stocking up for the long haul. slot-1 kits aren't going to have the 20yr shelf life that slot-2 kits had, mostly because most slot-1 kits are cheaply made.

I've got a first print R4 (Still works too, with Yellow Wood) and an iTouchDS which I won in a competition

I haven't touched my DS in months though

First one (Max Media Dock) was a mistake before I learned what good flashcarts were.
Second (M3 Simply) was great for a year, but then began having contact issues and was outdated anyway.
Replaced that with an M3 Real. It still works, so I sold it when I got,
the Supercard DStwo. (GBAtemp edition) Love love love love Love!
And then zhuzhuchina gave away a bunch of free R4s. I grabbed one because...well....free R4.

I have 3, DStwo X2 and an acekard 2i
Would you be interested in trading one of those DSTwos to me? :3

I haven't thought about getting rid of one of them, but out of curiosity what would you offer?

On topic: I also have 2 X R4, which work with the Wood firmware which I forgot about.
I guess I can offer up to USD $25, I'd understand if that's a bit low.
