If you count changing all the capitals to lowercase then yeah, I nickname them. ;3That's one of the reasons I hate Pokemon - All the Pokemon names are in capitals.

I feel you guys, I ALWAYS have to lowercase all the letters after the first one... bugs me so much

I named all of my Pokemon Raika to confuse people online.
WHEN I get my router fixed, that is.

I haven't really played the new ones, but back with Red/Blue, to piss off my friends, I'd nickname them other Pokemon's names.
For example:

PIKACHU would be called GEODUDE.

So when playing my buddies, they'd see "is about to use GEODUDE.", so they'd pick their Squirtle and I'd roflstomp their face into oblivion.
Gets a little bitchy when organizing a collection though!
even more lolz

Yes I name my Pikachu a Pekachu just kidding.
I name mine like -Pikachu-, -Steelix- and so on I hate the names being in all caps and than I toss in the - and -
to make it look more custom. I also Put the - and - on my name as well.

Sometimes during my run troughs of the Pokemon Games I nickname my Pokemon.
I remember on my second run through of Pokemon Sapphire I tagged all my Pokemon with "J" (My last name initial) and spell the Pokemon's actual name in Proper casing.
Example: Kyogre J

My current Pokemon Firered run-through that I am doing I am properly casing most of the Pokemon names in exception to SQUIRTLLE which I named Kamex.

My Heart Gold save I nicknames my Pokemon with semi-inteligent names (Exceptions: Legendarys with Proper Casing; Suicune, Entei, Rikou, Ho-oh. LUGIA = Luga)
My TOGIKISS is named "Toget".
My UNBREON is named "Lunasan"
My PIKACHU is named "Pika-cun"
My NIDORINA is named "Nidowoman"

I got a perfect name for BLAZIKEN, Flareblitz

UNOWN are named as such: Unown *
*= It's forme; example: UNOWN FORM A = Unown A, UNOWN's B FORME = Unown B, etc.

Wow shit, gbatemp, I am disappoint.
Who DOESN'T nickname? It makes them unique. It makes them your Pokemon, and not just any old CAPITALIZED POKEMON NAME.

I thought most people nicknamed, and listing Ash as a positive example isn't really helping your case is it?

Yeah dunno why Ash was thought to be a good idea to bring up...he's just a boyishly dressed version of sailor moon.

I've only named 3 pokemon in my entire life playing pokemon.

In Fire Red, named my Charmander 'Flames'.

In Emerald, named my Magikarp 'Gyradragon'.

In Pearl, named my Piplup 'Fierce'.

I always do name mine. I usually name my best after legends and the useless ones are named after their type like Fire-FlamingFury Water-whirlpool Electric-Shock! etc.
