Back on topic: Maybe we could at least use a hardware mod? I got a working YAOSM, maybe that could help somehow...

I know everyone is gonna get on my ass, but if there's no other choice then it's the best solution. (I think there could be other choices though as in somehow change the audio files)

Well according to emukidid, the upcoming SD-Boot will include an updated USB-Boot. USB-Boot can launch GC games from a computer via USBgecko. But sadly, each time you want to play via USB-Boot, you have to turn your computer on.

I think I'm just gonna go get a WODE now...

Dont do that. Wait at least for the upcoming SD-Boot 1.0. You still have to buy an SDgecko but it's price is nothing (3 bucks) compared to a WODE (70-80 bucks)

Sounds good. Where can I find more information about it?

I have a SD-Gecko and a Wii (WiiKeyv1 + Homebrew n cIOS (USB Loader)) and a Gamecube with Viper Extreme + USB Flasher.
Also having a USB Gecko and SD Gecko.

But none of above I was able to load Gamecube games from my Computer/SD Card Neither on Wii or Cube with SD Gecko or USB Gecko.

I think that SD Boot's new version coming up is gonna fix it all.
But I have one question, is it truly compatible with Wii, or only Gamecube? @ SD-Boot.

Mios-Dios seems to have a real low compatibly at the moment..

IMHO theres about 10 games for the gamecube that are gamecube/nintendo only and worth getting for it. not too much to chuck them on a few multigame discs,

I suppose for those without a wii that can read dvd-r then this/wode is an option.

Well SD-Boot is gonna be a gamecube homebrew, which means you have to use Wii Gamecube Homebrew Launcher or UniiLoader to launch it. It wont work with the Homebrew Channel. It's designed for Gamecube, but it will also be compatible with the Wii, but on Wii it might not have all the features as on gamecube.

You can find the features list here
Further information can be found here

SD-Boot won't bring anything revolutionary.
The only thing emukidd will be able to do is the same as in dios-mios. The only difference, it will redirect DVD access through patches to SD-gecko card instead of USB. It will have all problems of dios-mios and additionally will limit space to SD card so only up to 32gb will be available. I believe you don't want to know price of 32GB SD card if 100$ is too high already

I don't think 80$-100$ is really high price to wait something half-working. It's price of couple Wii games only. The only think i don't like in wode is its case. They could make it just a little wider to be able to put 2.5" drive (even two) inside instead of floating it around.

Did you take a look at the compatibility list from SD Boot? Compatibility is pretty high and if you consider how many good GameCube games there are an 8 GB SD Card should be enough for most people.

I didn´t know SD Boot pretty much works the same as DIOS-MIOS. If that´s true, like you say, then I hope Emukidd is gonna take a look at it.

And this is all I need? I just want to be sure before I buy it.
Yes you just need SD gecko and a SD or SDHC Card.

@sorgelig: According to emukidid, SD-Boot's compatibility will be great. And I trust him, he knows everything gamecube-related probably better than anyone else

afaik it also combines usb-boot so usb gecko owners will have the capacity of their hdd's can spare
Yes..but the thing is, you cant connect the USb gecko with a HDD. You need to connect it with your computer and launch an external application there that sends a GC game through the gecko to the Wii. Not so convenient I guess.
