So what's the difference between the first NoDisc & NoDisc+??
And with the 2.2 7/20/2012 edition, are all games being forced to widescreen now? Because if so that would be nice to turn off in some games.
I have some Japanese games; are there any in specific that needed to be tested?
- Widescreen is disabled by default. You need to enable it manually (might depends on your used loader's settings).
- Japanese games are needed for completing the
Official Compatibility List. Crediar is asking for anyone who can help, specially with 480p setting, and he asks that you go join his IRC channel if you can help.
- The NoDisc option is doing multiple patches to the game.
This setting was removed in DML 1.0, and instead of a setting for NoDisc controlled by the user it's now controlled by whether there's a disc in the drive or not.
So, the NoDisc is and was always active since 1.0, according you always had a disc in your drive.
But some games* didn't work with all the patches, so he added a new Extended NoDisc setting only for a part of the patches, not all of them.
You don't need the NoDisc option, as it's always active, you can't deactivate it.
But now you can choose to enable or disable only the problematic part of that patch using the Extended NoDisc setting (which I called NoDisc+, I can rename it to Extended NoDisc if needed).
If you enable NoDisc+, then the Full patching is done to the game (like before).
If you disable NoDisc+, then only a part of the patching is done to the game (controls the DVDGetDriveStatus only).
I guess I should set this ON by default, and user can disable it on a per game basis.
Regarding the "new" NODISC option (DML_CFG_NODISC) in DM v2.2,
is there anyone know which game has to "turn on" this new option
(EX: through GX r1198) then it can work correctly ?
It's the contrary, more games will require that this is turned ON. only a few games will work only if you turn off that setting, as part of the patches where problematic for some games.
* List of game working only with NoDisc+ disabled:
Prince of Persia:Sands of Time
Goblin Commander
King Kong
