Dios-Mios Lite - PoC by crediar
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

DML is a tool which allows you to run Gamecube games from the front-SD
interface on a Wii.

This will be the last version since as I mentioned already I have no time
to work on such things anymore.

Please support me and don't reupload it, just use the posted link :)

SNEEK+DI - Installation
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Download MIOSv10 from NUS and decrypt it
2. Use FixELF to create the patched MIOS file:
ÂÂ FixELF 0000000c.app DML.elf 0000008.app
3. Assure that BC is installed to your virtual NAND
4. Navigate to the BC folder on your NAND
ÂÂ /title/00000001/00000100/content/
5. Replace the 00000008.app file with the just created patched MIOS file

Note: "00000008.app" is the name of BC when BCv6 is installed, if using
ÂÂ a different version just replace the larger file!

6. Simply pick the Gamecube game from the SNEEK-Menu list and start it
ÂÂ via the Disc-Channel.

Other - Installation
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
UNEEK+DI: unsupported
RealNAND: untested

Removal
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Simply get a clean BC wad from NUS and install it.

General Info
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

DML requires SNEEK r157 or higher.
SNEEK r168 is required for audio streaming games to work correctly.

A Wii or GC game disc is required for DML to work.

DML outputs some log info via USBGecko and also some parts to /dml.log.

DML uses a cache system for the patches. After the first launch of a game
all further launches will be much faster.

FAQ
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q: What about a version that uses USB?

A: That's sadly not possible due a hardware limitation.
ÂÂ Same reason why DIOS-MIOS was discontinued!

Q: Where is the source?

A: There won't be any source code, sven gave me a license free version
ÂÂ of his SD/SDHC code.

Q: What about those games that are not working, will they ever work?

A: As this is the 'final' version the answer is they won't.

Q: My Wii suddenly switched itself off?!

A: When a fatal error occurs a debug message is sent via USBGecko and
ÂÂ DML shuts the Wii down.

Game Compatibility
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Generally most games work, audio streaming games 'work' but do not play
the audio played via audio streaming.

Also some games that use custom .dol loaders don't work.

This is extremely cool. It's not perfect, but Tales of Symphonia is doing better than I thought it would on it (quite playable so far). to the people asking, I *don't* think this would work on a real nand since it seems to really rely on SNEEK. Really interesting thing to try if you've a spare SD card though.

I could never get SNEEK to work, I followed the instructions from start to finish many times and each time it ended with me staring at a black screen for 20+ minutes when I tried to boot the emulated NAND. I guess I should give it another shoot because I really want to test this out.

I'll try this out as soon as I can. Sadly, it's been a long time since I used Sneek so it'll probably be a while.

Edit: The size of my 00000008.app file is 210 KB. Is that right?

How to enter the SNEEK-Menu list?
as far as i know, cause i've been playing with the leaked version of this, is you need a dummy game in the disk slot when you change from real to sneek, then it will come u in the disk channel.
unless he changed it.

I think that I successfully compiled DML (filesize was ~200 kb) and I can run SNEEK+DI and can play wii games.

However, when I tried playing Zelda Wind Waker my wii powers off. Can anyone confirm that this game is not compatible with DML, or did I do something wrong?

Also, I tried this with a disc in the wii, so I don't think that was an issue. Sadly I'm at work now, but I will try some other games later today.

Okay, I tried to get it running but for whatever reason Sneek + DI doesn't work for me. So I can't even test it.
I had a lot of trouble getting Sneek+DI to work too. Actually, just Sneek in general. Weirdly I don't have a problem with any of the flavors of Uneek, so I'm not sure what I was doing wrong at first.

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Ok yes they were both made by Rare, but DK was from Rare back then, Rare now is owned by MS. So makes since.
