Wait so if the 3ds version gets localized (and if it does im buying it) wont that make this whole patch pointless?

Depends on whether you think that everyone who doesn't own a 3DS but only a PSP should feel forced to buy a 3DS only for this game or not.
On the other hand you could see it the other way around and say "well the 3DS owners have to do the same if they want to play the game right now",
but then again, wouldn't it feel more fair if there was a game that actually would unity the Sony and Nintendo Haters, having one game they love in common on their respective systems?

I don't know. If the PSP and the 3DS game get localized then I would say yes. But as things stand now, neither was announced yet.
The announcement of a 3DS localization doens't make me feel to cancel the PSP project, but then again this would have to be decided with the whole team, and for now there was no reason yet.

Even if they do decide to localize the 3DS version it will take them a year or more, Namco is painfully slow with English localizations.

its happens sometime on some games that really have good reputation have to be localized but chances are minimal due..its not supported by nintendo(due it can affect on pokemon franchise or other games related on monster issues)

we are just lucky on digimon ds games...

Riiiiiight. You want to give me a specific example of when Nintendo did this? I'm fairly certain Nintendo has little say in when companies choose to localize games. As Nintendo would quite literally lose no money.

No. Because there are differences between them (interfaces etc) and slightly different content afaik. The only way this may even remotely be redundant is when a PSP version of this exact game is localised AND released. But even then, there will be difference of preference such as naming (such as the Translation VS Localisation debate a while back).

Stop dreaming.
Also, if the PSP version gets announced to be localised, yeah, I'm droping this, but the 3DS port as already said, not everyone have a 3DS.

Nintendo doesn't decide if it gets localized, Namco does. Namco also localized Digimon World DS and Digimon World Dawn and Dusk on the original DS and Nintendo had nothing to do with it outside allowing them to license it for distribution.

Their not going to bar Digimon games just because they own Pokemon, that would be illegal.

StorMyu can you give us an update on the patch ?
It has been stated several times in this thread to not ask this question as it gets annoying.

Giving a progress report for this patch is not something you can just eyeball and takes time to do. They will release an update when they feel like they have made adequate progress.

lol would be funny thought but image namco where thinking "Ok guys new game ideas please"
and japanese person said "people on GBATemp are translating our PSP game, these must be nintendo fans as we cant really read the site but there threads got quite a few views"
"well its settled gentlemen, the people want it ported to the 3DS"

and thus the 3DS version was born

Lol after this thread reaches one Million we can pretend to be that famous :D But before that I think it was rather like this:

They brought it to the PSP in the first place because the Original Digimon World was released on a Sony System. For Nostalgia Reasons they did the same.
But Redigitize had its shortcomings. I always wondered why was that.

Now I think they planned to release it for 3DS from the very beginning and left the good stuff for the 3DS Version.
This doesn't make this game less awesome (and it really is!) but it would explain why they did it this way..
