Mine has worked good for the past 40+ times i've used it by now.

Same here. Works perfectly and has worked since I got it. Still works. I've used it a ton of times so far for a number of different cards.

Mine worked briefly, as you said, and then burned out randomly. Literally burned. Sparked and was hot to the touch. Fuck.

I got my R4 yesturday, I've only used the card reader 2 or 3 times but so far it works no problems. The newer packs seem to have less problems with the card reader.

Mine works in the sense that my computer recognizes it. After reading some of the horror stories from this site I decided not to put my microSD card into it. I use my old faithful SD card reader/writer. (Just to be safe...)

My R4 arrived today; I've connected it twice. Seems to be working great so far. Hope it stays good, as I don't have access to any other card reader.

Haven't used mine yet. This is my first experience with MicroSD and because the card seems so fragile I'm much more comforable using the card reader that came with it than the reader with the R4. I put the card in there once and didn't like the fit.

Yes, however lately I've noticed quite the bit of lag when I got to delete/rename files on the microSD when using it. Most of the time it works fine, though.

Mine works fine as well. It almost fell apart pulling it out of the usb port once, but once I clicked it all back together it's seemed more solid and hasn't felt like it's coming apart since.

Also I use a USB 1.1 port rather than a 2.0, the write speeds are slower but after hearing the stories of it overheating I thought it might be a safer bet!

I mostly use my built-in SD reader with the SD adapter that came with the MicroSD.
