Help with Apple Id

I have a iphone se 2020 with ios 17 , which I got from my friend he wants to reset the phone in order to sell it , he has setup appleid and 2fa , he knows apple id password but cant get the otp for 2fa , can I use software like drfone to remove appleid , or is there some any free software or way that I can remove the appleid and reset the whole device .

Not having any Apple devices myself, so no idea if a local unlock is even possible: Maybe there are server side checks; rather than on Android with the local Google FRP rubbish?

Rather than resorting to shady software and potentially paying for it, you should try to recover the Apple ID. Having the password is a very good start.
Contact Apple if needed. Unlock the thing the normal way.

This isn't always true, I've have encountered some devices which are now more restricted than they once were.

IIRC there was one customer with a Nokia that managed to lock themselves out. I tried doing a factory reset on the device via recovery but no luck.
