So I've recently been using Devo and it's been working great so far. However, there are 3 games which refuse to work on Wii U: Luigi's Mansion, Melee, and Sonic Heroes. What's weird about this is that they work on the Wii just fine without the disc (and yes, I'm using the same remote on bothe the Wii and Wii U). Any suggestions?

For anyone that's having trouble verifying games from another region, here's something I happened to notice:

If you have a modchip in your Wii Console that you're using to verify your games, make sure that you turn any region bypass options off in the modchip settings or it'll screw with your game verification.

I wasn't able to verify Mario Party 4 (JAP) or Luigi's Mansion (PAL) until I disabled region bypass in the modchip.

Gotcha, shoulda checked more pages!

Any input on Animal Crossing? My MD5 was verified so I wasn't sure what could have caused the crashing besides a bug.

I can play Animal Crossing just fine, mine is NTSCU too.
It's the md5 of the iso that I'm using: 7853049ccd0c1e2bffeb5b12393a5409

Mine is Player's Choice version.

Check you memory card maybe it's causing the problem.

What kind of mod chip are you using? I have a wode and when I have a game loaded and try to verify it, the iso gets ejected.

Are you using NTSC or PAL versions? NTSC versions of Luigi's Mansion and Super Smash Bros. Melee work on my Wii U. The only game that does not load on my console is Resident Evil.

NTSC for all except Melee (though that probably is too).

Is Luigi's Mansion the original or the Player's Choice edition? If the same version of the game works on my console but not on yours, using the same version of Devolution, a weird quirk may be the cause besides simple incompatibility.

Is anyone able to make Resident Evil (original release) work in Devolution on a Wii U (it loads properly on my Wii)?

Luigi's Mansion actually loaded in vWii once, but never again after that.

okay, here we go
the FIXED versions (still plzzz test and report)

devolution sample loader mod w/options and optional DM(L) game placement compatability

Wiiflow plugin for those that want 1:1 button mapping with wiiflow

I went to the Plug-Ins section of WiiFlow to load your Plug-In and it would just boot me back to WiiFlow and change the directory for the Game-Source on my Plug-Ins from USB 2 (My FAT Partition on my external hard drive) to USB 1 (My NTFS Partition). I'm running Rev. 200 of Devolution and WiiFlow 4.1.3. I'm using this to connect a wired Gamecube Controller to the Wii Mote.

Am I doing something wrong? I've never messed with Plug-Ins on WiiFlow so I have next to no clue what I'm doing.

It needs to be a FAT partition

My games are located on my FAT Partition. It boots me out to my NTFS Partition when trying to load a game from the FAT Partition. I changed the DisplayName in the .INIs to differentiate the two in the Plug-Ins menu, could that be it?

Is there a way to convert saves from a memory card to Devolution's memory card emulation?

EDIT: If a game does not work on Wii U, delete the .dvv file on the usb drive in the apps folder coresponding to the game you are trying to load. It's how I got Melee and Heroes to work.

Hi! I have made a mod for those of you who want the Classic Controller buttons to be remapped to match the letters in the game. I compiled Devolution so that A=A, B=B, X=X and Y=Y. For my brain this is a much easier way to play, so I wanted to share it with you if you can't compile on your own or so. Check it out!

BTW, this is my first time on this forum as a member. So much great stuff going on here, Devolution is really awe-inspiring!

You're a little late to the party, bud. someone already made that patch a while back. :ha:

@drakoAh, right. Not being well-versed in the corners of gbatemp, I couldn't find it for my life :P

It would be nice to have yet another version with disabled "L" button, it currently works as a switch to change right stick as an analog shoulder button, the problem is I often mistake "L" by "ZL" during gameplay, changing the function on the right stick.

Personaly I don´t find analog shoulders that necessary, except maybe for Mario Sunshine.

Yeah, that would be good but it is currently not possible. During gameplay it is the closed source Devolution Engine doing all the work and handling all the controls. All we can do is send different config flags to the engine from the launcher. Currently there is no flag for disabling that function, as far as I know. If tueidj adds a flag to disable it, then it will be possible.

The Classic Controller (NOT CC Pro) has analog shoulder buttons, do they work as analog gamecube shoulder buttons?
