Hacking De-Mod/Safe update

I have a Wii on firmware 4.1, and I'd like to basically "de-mod" it. I've deleted the homebrew channel and all of my loaded WADs, but I guess it still has custom IOS or something.

I want to just update to the latest firmware and treat my Wii like it was never modded, but I don't know if I can do this safely. Will I risk getting bricked by current or future updates? Am I basically stuck modded forever?

Basically I only ever use my Wii for official things (no homebrew). The only reason I ever hacked it was because I wanted to play with having my three games load from a hard drive. But the novelty of that wore off, and now I just want to be able to update without worrying and use the virtual console/wiiware without ever running into problems.
