Hacking D3-2 Replacement

sorry for create a new topic in incoherent section, i cant find a suitable one

if i use Replacement DVD Drive Motherboard for my wii(d3-2) after that can i load GC games and Video DVD from wii dvd drive?

Yup. D3 and earlier drive boards can read burned discs and video DVDs fine. As mentioned below, it's far easier to swap the entire drive, though.

You could always load GC games from a D3-2. Just not backups. And dont just get a DVD drive board because they're very hard to install. Get a full replacement drive that's not a D3-2.

You can play gamecube games without doing anything. Do you mean backups of gamecube games?

To watch movies, either replace the drive or copy the movies on an external hard disk and watch them in mplayer.

it is extremely easy to switch drive boards.... there are only 6 solder points and they are huge...
a monkey could do it.
don't waste money on the whole drive when all you need is the board.

Really? I'm just skeptical towards all soldering projects because I never solder

Agreed - the solder points for a board replacement are a walk in the park. Soldering the old mod chip points to legs of the ICs not so much!
