WiiNewz has scored a picture of the D2Pro a new DVD-ROM based modchip for the Nintendo Wii with the D2C DVD-ROM chip set. Other then the fact it only uses 15 wires for installation not much is known about it's features other then the fact it can be updated via an external cable and connector. I would assume it would have all of the normal features of any modern drive chip. No word yet on who is making this chip, but by the looks of the design and PCB layout it's probably someone familiar.

We are pleased to announce that d2pro is now confirmed to be region free with the addition of 4 wires. So, we basically have 3 'modes' now: 19 wires (region free mode, rock solid), 15 wires (standard mode, rock solid), 13 wires (lite mode, a little shaky!).
