I feel like modding my D2C wii with D2Ckey but do not know if it is still running smooth. I'm on a budget and do not want to go over $60 including the wiiclip. Is there a better mod chip with good support? I'm planning to buy D2Ckey here.

Also, will the D2Ckey ever need to be updated if NOA releases firmware that can render it unusable?

The D2Ckey only works with D2C consoles. It does not work with D2C2 so make sure you have a D2C first. As well, they have discontinued the D2Ckey so no support for it in the future.

If you want something around $60 go with the D2Sun V1.5 with Wiiclip for $54.95

im sure i have a d2c drive. i also want one compatible w/ wiiclip that doesn't involve shorting anything or extending the clk wire.

What if Nintendo does the same they did for SSBB and Super Mario Galaxy where the Wiikey and D2Pro needed to be updated to play them? That is why it is good to choose a chip that has support.

technically the d2ckey is the only chip that has never needed an update. installed properly, that thing is still working and has no eject or inching issues. one of the few good products by by the d2c/wiikey dudes. maybe too good and thats why they abandoned it?!
